Clear is kind, unclear is unkind - Brene Brown.

I spent 3 days last week at Griffith University learning about clinical entrepreneurship. The one thing that's sat with me since then, is clarifying the problem. What is it that's frustrating me in health right now? What can I control and influence and how can I use this to move forward?

So I'm asking for feedback. Particularly about the resource that I launched 2 months ago.

No one likes to give true feedback directly - so you can do it anonymously.

At work today we had these super cute (& tasty) cupcakes for staff. They were free. We were asked by our employer to ask the question R U OK? But also to post our thanks to other staff.

I understand that there is a lot more to the meaning behind today. It made me stop and think though that it’s the simplest things that can create a difference.

💛 A free cupcake.
💛 A note of thanks from a boss.
💛 A check-in to stop to talk to the staff member grieving the loss of a loved one.

We overcomplicate things when it’s really pretty simple to be kind to someone.

What was I most grateful for today? I accidentally left my 🎧 Beats ear phones at work. After a whole week they had not moved from my hot desk. 💛

Thanks Clare for the shout out!

I’ve got another great resource for you that you don’t want to miss, and this time it’s one for OTs AND physios working in hand therapy businesses!

Having worked in hand therapy myself, I appreciate that a large part of the role involves liaising with medical professionals to ensure the optimal treatment and outcomes for our clients. I also appreciate that GPs are awesome, but there’s lots to know, and they may not necessarily be an expert in managing hand injuries.

Often the first person assessing a hand injury and deciding whether or not to refer on to hand therapy is a GP. This means one of the most important ‘customers’ for a hand therapy business is their local GP.

So, for this reason, I bet you’ve got a really professional, evidence-based, online, accessible resource that’s branded with your company logo and contact details, that you can easily share with your local GPs to not only tell them what you can offer, but to help them understand the essential things they need to know when treating common hand injuries.

Oh, you don’t?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. A resource like this takes time+++ to put together. But keep it on your to-do list and I’m sure you’ll create it one day!

Or, here’s an easier option – and who doesn’t love an easier option! – check out this resource developed by Lisa Copland from Health Thoughts.

Lisa has created this amazing done-for-you resource that you can add your own branding to and start using straight away as an education and marketing tool for your local GPs.

I could tell you more, but Lisa’s already done that in much more detail than I could on her website – the link is in the comments!

PS If you know of any other great resources that you think the OT world needs to know about, let me know!

Scroll through for the steps required to use my latest resource 📱

There's not a lot of steps, as I've tried to make this resource *super easy*.

The only tough part will be working out how to share this to your referrer as not just another email. And I can't do that for you - as only you know who they are or what they need.

Still got questions? Send me a DM.

Australian Hand Therapy Association national conference thanks for a great mini break.

Well done to Charlotte Full Circle Hand Therapy and the conference committee for organising probably one of the nicest venues I’ve had a conference in - Adelaide Wine centre.

Special mention to the efforts to support small business & sustainability with recycled conference bags.

But I wanted to share a really cool tech tip for presentations: a spotlight presentation remote!
