Where have I been? I’ve been working hard in the background …. I started a new job earlier this year after being made redundant at the end of December. My resumes work! Ahhh it’s the weekend! Saturday: Slept in, drank tea and stayed up late writing resumes (then drank wine and watched Netflix). Sunday ditto to get up to date after a busy week! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekends! 😀

Whilst looking through Facebook this evening I noticed one of my resume reboot clients secured a job after a lot of searching. I messsged to congratulate him and what a lovely response:
“Hi Marie, so sorry I haven't been in contact for a while but stuff has been hectic! Your suggestions were fantastic and I can never thank you enough! You have been brilliant!”.

Tip 4 (of 4) from Roxy’s Little Black Book of Tips & Tricks:
If you do end up securing an interview, be sure to always send a follow-up email to thank the interviewer for their time. Better yet, send a handwritten thank you card to show how much you appreciated the opportunity. These small gestures don’t go unnoticed. In the age of digital and people living their lives on their screens, receiving a beautifully written note is a real delight.

I’ve been reading Roxy’s Little Black Book of Tips & Tricks. Here are Roxy’s tips to make your application stand out for all the right reasons:
These basic elements may be glaringly obvious but many people get these basics wrong.
Tip 1 (of 4): Write a cover letter - clearly explain why you want the job. Go on to briefly explain your studies and experience and how these are applicable to the role you are applying for. Be honest, to the point and make sure you triple-check for spelling and grammar mistakes. First impressions are priceless.
