Very excited to be assisting a Very Valued Client with a couple of hundred Worker Hearing Assessments thanks to the assistance of our Clinical Partner - Tracy Consulting Services. WHOW will be onsite for 4 days as we assess workers hearing over three shifts including a Night Shift so no worker gets forgotten !!!!

Rapid Antigen Testing for COVID 19

What is it?

Rapid Antigen Testing is a screening tool to help detect COVID 19 in people without any symptoms.

Why would it be implemented in Workplaces?

Employers are scoping Rapid Antigen Testing Workplace Screening initiative to protect workers, their families, your clients and the broader community.
Rapid Antigen Testing Programs in Workplaces are being scoped to be delivered at least twice a week so that any workers that could have COVID-19 can be identified, isolate and seek a PCR Test.

What does a Rapid Antigen Test involve?

The rapid antigen test is quickly and easy. It involves a nasal swab (using a small cotton bud) that is placed into a chemical solution, the solution is tested in a receptacle or in a device. Results are available within 15 to 20 mins and depending on the testing gear has an accuracy of 90% or more. The TGA has approved the Rapid Antigen Test Kits utilised and Tests are conducted by Health Practitioners under strict TGA and Manufacturer Protocols.

How does the Rapid Antigen Test Work?

Rapid Antigen Tests detect proteins from the virus that can cause COVID-19 all from swabbing your nose and testing for the protein.

Points to consider

Early identification helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in your workplace and in the community.

Even with vaccination workers can still spread the COVID 19 Virus so vaccinated workers should still take part in any employer implemented screening programs in workplaces.

Rapid Antigen Tests are quicker, cheaper and less invasive for workers without symptoms and allows for the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Tests to be used for people who are getting sick.

Aged Care Facilities are using the Rapid Antigen Tests now for their screening program as are FIFO Sites and Major Events are considering their use.

Rapid Antigen Testing compliment all the other measures that are being used to combat the spread of COVID 19 in the Community.

For workplaces where workers have to work in close quarters situations and social distancing is difficult to maintain due to the work being undertaken Rapid Antigen Testing can be a suitable risk control.

Work Health on Wheels is scoping out providing a Workplace Rapid Antigen Testing Service as the need develops for Clients.

Work Health on Wheels is ready to roll out the COVID Vaccination to Queensland Workplaces and the Community at large as soon as we can secure Vaccine's through the supply chain.
With the information we have to hand we hope to get on with the job in October with the green light from Qld Health to our Vaccination Partner - Tracey Consulting Service
