Safe housing changes lives, and together with the right support, it changes futures.
Last year provided over 8,000 nights of safe accommodation to young women and children in Queensland, along with the support to help them rebuild.

We looked at what that investment means for all of us:
For every $1 donated, the estimated return to society is $4.50 - $5.70.

Because a woman who finds stable housing is less likely to need emergency services or hospital care, she's more likely to return to work, and her children are more likely to thrive at school. One safe roof creates better outcomes for everyone, especially kids.

And every dollar you donate to creates an impact that goes far beyond one family, it's felt by all of us.

We'd love your support. You can donate at the link in our bio.

Know a small team that needs a great place to work? We have approximately 45sqm of open plan office space available in Newmarket, and we’re looking for the right tenant to fill it.

This office is Ideal for a professional services firm, consultant, or small business that wants a proper address without the CBD price tag.

The space is light-filled, readily adaptable, and comes with everything you need to hit the ground running: high-speed internet, IT infrastructure, on-site parking, signage opportunities, and access to a shared kitchen, with options for access to a meeting space. No nasty surprises on outgoings either.

And the location? Walkable to a coffee roaster, a brewery, Wilston Train Station, and about 10 mins to Newmarket Village. Bike paths on your doorstep. Plenty of on-street parking for clients. Basically, the kind of office address you can actually sell to your team on a Monday morning.

Reach out directly if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Happy to show you around. 👋

Just 15km from Brisbane’s CBD, Bunyaville Conservation Park is more than a recreational destination - it’s an example of how well-designed natural assets support healthier, more active communities. There is a network of shared trails which attracts mountain bike riders, walkers and families, creating accessible opportunities for outdoor activity close to where people live.

Spaces like Bunyaville highlight the growing demand for quality green infrastructure and multi-use recreational networks across South East Queensland. Thoughtful planning and management are essential to balance environmental conservation, user safety, and the diverse needs of the community.

For urban planners, policymakers and community stakeholders, spaces like Bunyaville demonstrate the value of:

💰Investing in active transport and recreation infrastructure
🍃Protecting natural landscapes while enabling responsible use
❤️Supporting physical and mental wellbeing through accessible public spaces
👣Creating destinations that strengthen local identity and connection to place.

As our cities continue to evolve, integrating high-quality green spaces into urban planning will remain critical to building resilient, liveable communities.

From humble beginnings in 1924, the Southport Surf Life Saving Club has grown into one of the Gold Coast’s most enduring community institutions.

Since its establishment, the club has evolved alongside Southport itself. It’s a place that has adapted to population growth, changing coastal conditions, and the needs of a modern city, while staying true to its core purpose of protecting lives and building community.

At Urban Advisory, we’re inspired by places like Southport SLSC that demonstrate how strong foundations, long-term vision and community connection can support sustainable growth over generations.

It also cooks a mean steak on the grill! Go check it out next time you visit the Gold Coast.

Happy New Year from Urban Advisory.

Director, Anthony Jones, has been enjoying his time out of the office. From visiting Rainbow Beach and driving to Double Island Point, social catch ups with family and friends and a boat trip out in Moreton Bay (yes the fish was THIS big and it did get away!)

Yesterday he visited golf course with his wife, Holly. They have recently started playing together and it’s lots of fun. This is a beautiful course in the Logan area with a great clubhouse for lunch afterwards. Well worth the visit.

The Urban Advisory team will be back on deck soon. The team are ready for a big year ahead.

Here’s to building something good in 2026.

This remarkable organisation has been making a profound impact for 140 years, providing safe housing, vital support and life-changing opportunities for young women and children across Queensland.

There are many opportunities to be involved and support the in 2026. Check out their page for more information.
