Move beyond ”self care” to wellness! The tough nature of our sector calls us to go deeper; we need to create space to heal and recharge!
~ True self care is about wellness and integrating wellbeing of self, in the every day! ~
Here’s six tips, evidenced based that will help you transform self care, to wellness!
1 - Our parasympathetic and sympathetic systems are heavily connected to our spine; get moving and regularly!
2 - We often busy our down time on weekends, with family, friends and social activities that we’ve not stopped. Take some down time!
3 - Invite reflection and think a little deeper beyond your logical brain - connect with your heart and gut systems, dig deeper! (Journal, be in nature, sit by water, go camping, limit devices).
4 - When you do connect with others, connect with those who recharge you and fill you with positive energy.
5 - Light therapy (exposure to sunlight) for 10 min every morning before your day, is very friendly to your nervous system and is known for reducing stress.
6 - Breathe and breathe from your tummy - pay attention. Lay down, put your hands on your stomach and breathe deep enough for your stomach to rise.
