Queensland has launched its new Queensland-Pacific Trade and Investment Strategy 2026–2028, focused on strengthening trade, investment, and partnerships across the Pacific 🌏🤝🏽
The strategy prioritises four key Pacific markets New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and Samoa which make up more than 90% of Queensland’s Pacific trade.
Key focus areas include:
✨ Food & agribusiness
✨ Education & training
✨ Infrastructure
✨ Energy technologies
The strategy also aims to:
✔️ Support Pacific and Queensland businesses to grow
✔️ Strengthen regional partnerships
✔️ Create jobs and investment opportunities
✔️ Build stronger supply chains closer to home
✔️ Support new exporters entering Pacific markets
As Pacific people continue contributing significantly to Queensland’s economy, culture, and communities, it’s encouraging to see stronger recognition of the importance of Pacific partnerships and regional collaboration.
This opens up exciting conversations around entrepreneurship, trade, innovation, workforce development, and creating more pathways for Pacific businesses and communities across Queensland and the region 🌺
