Nowruz is the Persian New Year. It marks the first day of Farvardin, the first month of the Persian solar calendar and the first day of Spring. This holiday began with the Zoroastrians over 3000 years ago in Ancient Persia and people of all religions celebrate Nowruz.
On the first day of Nowruz, families gather at the home of their oldest family member. The traditional New Year meal includes Sabzi polo mahi, and kooku sabzi.
Sabzi Polo (Persian Herb Rice), Kuku sabzi and Fried fish are the dishes commonly cooked by Persian families.
Kuku sabzi tends to have fewer eggs than the typical omelette. Kuku is similar to a frittata, but is made with fewer eggs. You really can use whatever hearty greens and herbs you like. Sabzi Polo is commonly served with Mahi Sefid but I prefer to use Baramandi or Trout for my dish. I hope you cook and enjoy the heavenly taste of Persian cuisines!

Taste is the spice of life!
Cooking with love is one of my passions. I like cooking simple, comfort and homely food. Watching family and friends enjoying my food is one of my happy moments!
I don’t follow recipes and I trust my palate and heart to make a mouth-watering meal! (I think I mentioned before that I don’t like to follow the rules and I have my own way to do things!)
What I do is, I read a couple of recipes and then I change the ingredients and measurements according to my taste (and my loved ones) and Tadaa my own magic recipe is ready! So, I don’t have any recipe but if you ask I can tell you my dishes ingredients!
I would like to share one of my dishes photo every week and I would be happy if you leave a comment with your suggestions/ideas/recipes or you can DM me your foods photos.
