From the city to the coalfields! Magnetic South Pty Ltd are thrilled to have partnered with the “Institute of Modern Art” Brisbane to deliver a unique sculpture workshop to the students of Dingo, Bluff and Duaringa State Schools.

Designed and delivered by the IMA, the workshop gave local kids the opportunity to engage with contemporary art and artists, fostering critical and creative thinking skills.

We might be biased, but we’re sure we have unearthed at least one future art superstar in the community!

We’re very proud of this Magnetic South initiative and here’s a few snaps to prove it!

A few happy snaps of the Dingo State School's students and Magnetic South Pty Ltd's very own Geologist Geoff Armstrong at our sponsored Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy Highway Schools Program - "Exploring Beneath our Feet". Last week the students in years 3-6 participated in a geological mapping exercise and used playdough and straws to create a sedimentary layer model and ‘drilled for core samples’ role-modelling geological exploration in mining operations.

Sharni Dean Communications Manager at Magnetic South hopes to bring many more programs and workshops just like this to the students and schools in the area. ⛏ ⚒ 🧐
