Event apps… but make it fashion.

Because sometimes an app build starts with “this should be simple” and somehow ends up with:

✨ every feature turned on
✨ five fonts fighting for custody
✨ an app menu with commitment issues
✨ a custom setup no one wants to touch
✨ onsite staff trauma-bonded by lunch

The good news? Most app chaos is avoidable.

With the right structure, settings, design, testing, and support, your event app does not need to feel like a red-carpet emergency.

It can just… work.

That’s the bit I help with.

Need your event app to feel less “pray and publish” and more “calm, clear, sorted”?

Let’s get you there.

March was a big one behind the scenes at SBC Events.

Across 5 events, from smaller internal activations to large-scale public expos, our team spent 16 days onsite helping bring event experiences to life.

In numbers, March looked like this:

5 events
16 days onsite
30 badge printing machines across kiosks + registration desk kits
9,680 badges printed
33,554 leads collected

That’s a whole lot of people interacting with event technology in real time, often without even realising the engine behind it all.

And honestly? That’s kind of the point.

When event tech works well, it feels seamless.
The registration flows.
The badges print.
The leads roll in.
And the onsite experience feels smooth for organisers, exhibitors, and attendees alike.

March was full, fast-paced, and more than a little eventful, but it was also a great reminder of how much happens behind the scenes to make an event run well.

We’re proud to have supported so many events this month and to keep delivering the kind of event tech that helps things run smarter, faster, and with a whole lot less friction.

Safe to say… March kept us busy.

Show day looked calm… because the chaos stayed backstage 😅

We were onsite as backup after badge printing wobbles at the previous event. When peak arrivals hit, we kept check-in moving by troubleshooting in real time and rerouting the flow whenever a printer went down.

Result: most attendees waited under 4 minutes.

Smooth check-in doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s process + experienced onsite support.

Tomorrow we’re flying to Sydney to support a tech event onsite in “registration rescue mode”.

How it feels: getting called in like a superhero 🦸🏼

What it actually looks like: printer research, failure mapping, and locking the game plan before doors open.

Our pre-open checks (the unsexy ones):

✅ printer + label stock match

✅ test prints end-to-end

✅ backup plans

✅ a clear “if it goes sideways” workflow

Smooth check-in doesn’t happen by accident. It’s planned.

Pressies landed and we’ve officially been invaded by the ORANGE 🧡☕️

Huge thanks to Wordfetti for the welcome goodies — our desk (and brains) are READY.

PS: the mug has already been promoted to Head of Productivity 🙃

Behind the scenes, we’re investing in levelling up SBC Events — so we can keep supporting this incredible community, and grow in a way that’s strategic, sustainable, and built for the long game (because we don’t do burnout… we just want to help all the people 😅).

All so we can keep giving our community the best of the best in service + event tech (and the experience that wraps around it).

Let’s freaking go 🚀

Badge printing ready.
Queues avoided 💪

This is the behind-the-scenes stuff that keeps doors open smooth:
✅ kiosks tested
✅ badge printing confirmed
✅ team briefed
✅ onsite support ready to jump in fast

Because the goal is simple: get people inside quickly, then let the event do its thing.

Before doors open, we do this. ✅

Because “doors open” shouldn’t be the first time your tech gets tested.

Here’s what we’re checking before attendees arrive:

1) Attendee journey check
Can people actually find what they need… fast?

2) Registration + scanning check
Devices tested. Hardware tested. Simple instructions ready. Team briefed.

3) Comms plan check
Info updates. Push notifications. Where people go for help.

4) Team check
Roles clear. Comms clear. Everyone knows the plan.

The goal?
A smooth entry, fewer questions at the desk, and an onsite team that isn’t firefighting from minute one.

Want “doors open” to be boring (in the best way 😌)?

💌 Partner Spotlight
Featuring the people who make events feel effortless.

You know those teams that walk into an event, and you instantly feel calmer?
Not because everything is perfect, but because you just know they’ve thought of it.

That’s JGH Events (shout out to the amazing Jenny 🙌).

Calm, organised, and always ten steps ahead. Everything felt in control because the planning was solid, the roles were defined, and communication was crystal clear. They also bring next-level team spirit, and they’re brilliant at making everyone involved feel genuinely seen, from contractors and suppliers through to clients, exhibitors and attendees.

We love working with teams like this because the experience is never just “well organised”. It feels connected.

👇 Who’s the partner you rely on to keep things running smoothly?
Tag them and share why you trust them, so others can find the good ones too.

Let SBC Events do the hard work so you can spend your time doing fun things!

Mini golf = yes. ⛳️
DIY event tech = 47 browser tabs + a prayer 😅

What’s the one part of your event tech you’d happily never touch again?

DIY isn’t free. You just pay in time + risk.

Calm isn’t luck. It’s design.
That’s why we build event app experiences that keep organisers in control - even on show day.

No jargon. No chaos. Just tech that supports the people experience.
