Our website just got the deep clean treatment. 🧹

We wanted somewhere we could keep you properly up to date, with blogs and insights from the cleaning and facilities world, plus everything you need to know about how we can support your facility and how to reach us.

Come have a look at spsfacilities.com 🙌

Build community, build wellbeing.

This week is Queensland Mental Health Week (3 to 11 October). A lot of our team work solo or on different shifts, so we're sharing three simple ways to connect:

Ask how someone's going, and really listen.
Share a cuppa or a lunch break with someone new.
Message a teammate on a different shift.

Who will you check in on this week?

This one made us smile. 💙

When Dorian and Alberto finished up with our Townsville team, Dorian shared a beautiful message thanking their manager, Leah, for her support, her kindness and the memories they made together.

Leah has built something special up north, and the boys were a big part of it. Across the port, police stations, the watch house and more, they brought real care to every site.

Thank you, Dorian and Alberto, for your time with us and all you contributed. And Leah, this one's for you too.

Lights, camera, safety! 🎬

We're filming a new SPS Academy training video on pepper spray safety, and we're doing it all in house. Brad, our HSEQ Manager, is sharing his expertise on camera, while Sophie, our Systems and Contracts Coordinator, runs the show from behind the lens.

Who better to train our team than the people who know the material inside and out?

Everyone, meet Nick! 👋

Nick Coleman joins SPS Facilities as our new Area Manager for South East Brisbane. He's managed just about every type of space there is, from schools and shared spaces to commercial and industrial sites, and he's clocked plenty of kilometres doing it.

Known for his great communication and a smile that never switches off, Nick is the kind of person who makes every site visit a good one.

Welcome to the team, Nick. We can't wait to see that smile on site. 😄

Brad Nicol has clocked up almost 22 years at SPS Facilities, from Area Manager to HSEQ Manager - but all of it with a focus on all matters HSEQ.

That's two decades of keeping our safety, quality and environmental systems in order behind the scenes, so the rest of us can get on with the job. He keeps our ISO certifications current, supports our OH&S committee, and even tracks and offsets our carbon footprint on top of it all.

Not many people stay in roles with a similar focus that long, let alone keep doing it this well. Thanks for everything, Brad, we don't take it for granted.

We're hiring a Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Brisbane.

This is a pure new business role, not account management. Find the opportunities, collaborate on the bid, win the work, then hand it to our operations team to deliver. Our strategic focus is industrial, education, government and healthcare facilities. You'll have a competitive advantage with the technology in our own Workforce Management platform, supporting our cleaning outcomes.

If you've spent the last few years winning work in facilities management, particularly cleaning services, and you have proven success, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply now via SEEK: https://www.seek.com.au/job/94645641. We ask for a cover letter telling us about a deal you're proud of. This forms part of your application.

Last week our SPS Facilities crew traded spreadsheets for scorecards at the BSCAA Annual Golf Day. A great day on the green, a few bunkers along the way, and plenty of laughs in between. Thanks to BSCAA LTD for putting on a fantastic event! ⛳

While our operations team is out in the field doing what they do best, we took the time to check in with the team in the office over a morning tea for R U OK Day. Checking in on each other isn't a once-a-year thing for us — it's something we make time for all year round. Today just gave us a good excuse for treats. 💛
