"It's that time of year," is a conversation I've had with several clients lately.
As I reflect back over the last month, it's been pretty hectic. Plenty of programs, workshops, coaching sessions and travel.
An absolute highlight however was the opportunity to host the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN)'s National Golden Gala at the National Press Club in Canberra last week.
It was great to hear updates from key figures in the Australian defence industry such as Vice Admiral Justin Jones AO CSC GAICD, AIDN's CEO Mike Johnson, and Shannon Nicholson from NIOA.
In a world where the geopolitical landscape is as challenging as it has been in decades, the need for deterrence and the ability to defend our nation is only increasing. I'm encouraged by the enthusiasm, resilience and achievement shown by the defence sector here in Australia and am proud to be part of it.
A big congratulations to Cody Hill for winning the Young Achievers Award. It's always great to see and good to celebrate the emerging leaders of the next generation. With a strong field of finalists, there is so much potential before us. Our future is bright.
Thanks also to Daniel Vincent representing Trojans Trek as the gala's charity partner. It's always good to highlight the important work your team are doing and the impact they are making.
If you're part of the defence sector, I encourage you to make the most of the many end-of-year celebrations and events being held in your local area. It's an exciting industry to be involved in with plenty of relationships to be built, and business to be conducted as a result.
