Great to be experiencing this sunset in Central Queensland. It’s been great undergoing a 6month secondment with a coal mining group. Nice change for one of the directors of UES to undertake the fifo role, while the other director is home with the kids! 😜🌳 plus juggling international travel.

Well thats a wrap for the Bribie Island nippers season. UES enjoyed being part of the community this club has to offer!
Looking forward to the next season with both Carl and I putting our names forward for various roles.

We will be looking for a greater outreach of partnerships for the 24/25 season.

One focus this year will be assisting in some dune restoration work in front of the club to encourage the return of wildlife by removing weeds and getting some native plants in.

Unearthed Environmental Services Directors, Dr Carl Grant and Dr Nardia Grant, would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We have enjoyed working with all of our existing and new clients this year, from the Mining Industry, other Consulting Companies, Government and Not for Profits. We look forward to continuing to deliver value to your organisations and your continued support in 2024! Our office will be shut from the 25th December to the 5th January inclusive. Stay safe and well over the break.

Three workshops have been held by Unearthed Environmental services (UES) with the assistance of Simon Neville over September and October, on developing a GIS prioritization modelling tool for revegetation efforts in Central Queensland for the . This took place with several Subject Matter Experts and the final outcome will be a live tool for future project planning and strategic direction to really make a difference.

Octobers recap - Dr Carl Grant presented the State and Transition model work that UES has worked on for the past 2 years, for Ranger mine, Northern Territory (ERA) at the 16th International Mine Closure Conference held in Reno, Nevada, USA. What is a state and transition model you ask? State and transition models (STMs) are used to organize and communicate information regarding ecosystem change, especially the implications for management, in this case, returning a native ecosystem similar to or on trajectory towards Kakadu National Park vegetation communities.

We are still pushing towards our 1 million trees goal here in Australia with the assistance of . Our mission at UES is to restore 500,000 trees a year to help kick start ecosystems across the nation!
