Our client's instructions were "match the carport to the house, and use solid hardwood timber with white stones and timber in the concrete".
Builder's tip: solid timber posts will "bleed" (ie., leak red dye all over the place) for about 6 weeks so make sure you cover everything within a 3m radius, including concrete.

Another house raise in Hendra. This one was in a flood zone, which meant some major considerations and restrictions when renovating.

Builder's tip: If your house is in a flood zone, you may not be able to build underneath it. Every street in Brisbane is different so check with a builder or designer before you start spending money on plans.

Such a huge transformation on this old post war home, if you are doing a renovation in The Gap make sure your builder has an allowance for plenty of rock removal!

For all you property investors out there, a quick little renovation inside and out done in four weeks. The investor was able to refinance all of their money back out after completion because of the increase in value (including the deposit and Reno cost) and the rent went from $230 a week before the Reno to $395 after it. Not bad for 4 weeks, you cant beat a free house :)
