Are foldable phones the next evolution of the smartphone? 📱

Apple is betting on the future of phones folding in two. But there are important questions to answer, and they're not straightforward 🤔

Being able to instantly double your screen size has obvious productivity benefits, but it requires app developers to take advantage of the extra space. Otherwise you're just looking at the same apps as the base iPhone at twice the price 💰

And with that $3,500 price tag, it becomes harder to see a future where foldables gain wide adoption. Could it lead the Duo — and other foldables — to the same catch-22 that killed the Windows Phone: no users means no apps, and no apps mean no users 🔄

Apple seems to think foldables are ready. But are they right, or will this end up an expensive mistake? And will the form factor every break out of their very niche market? 💬
