Hendra Virus Testing: Your Input for a Safer Industry

Imagine a world where identifying horses with Hendra virus was easy.

BioCifer is a startup dedicated to revolutionizing disease detection, ultimately saving lives of both people and animals through rapid diagnostic testing. We're working on a rapid portable Hendra virus (HeV) test that could give results in under 30 minutes.

We want to hear how important this would be to you - the horse owners and industry experts.
Please help improve Hendra virus testing by answering this short survey. https://forms.office.com/r/akbGWvAjYH

Estimated time for survey completion: 3-5 minutes.

Article from Dr Joanne MacDonalds introducing the technology of BioCifer to scientists in Brazil and Colombia due to the high number of infections with the zika virus.

“The scientists in Colombia and Brazil wanted the technology right then and there because there was such a dire need with the Zika outbreak,” she says.

Near the height of the zika virus outbreak in South America, molecular engineer Joanne Macdonald travelled to Brazil to meet with local scientists. An expert in biosensors for rapid disease detection, the portable diagnostic technologies she is developing could save lives and ease the burden for cli...
