Pacific Fair always score highly and has previously been crowned Queensland Retail Property of the Year in 2016 and 2021.

The management team has continued this track record.

Judges felt that the centre’s presentation was exceptional and deserving of one of the highest scores ever given in any of the awards.

This is the second award Pacific Fair picked up this year, also taking home the Excellence in Centre Management Award for properties greater than 50,000sqm.

Together with a high scoring marketing entry, Pacific Fair was an easy pick for judges for 2024 Queensland Retail Property of the Year receiving a unanimous vote from all judges.

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is runner-up for the 🏆 2024 Queensland Retail Property of the Year.

Judges remarked that Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is always a strong contender in every Award that it enters, and this year is no different.

Judges said “although the centre’s efforts may well have achieved a win in previous years, the standard of entries this year was particularly high.”

Regardless the judges were impressed and feel that this is a well-deserved recognition.

🎉 Congratulations JLL and Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre 🎉

Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre has received a judges commendation for the 🏆 2024 Queensland Retail Property of the Year.

Larger centres with larger budgets often get the most attention but judges this year wanted to acknowledge the efforts of a smaller regional centre punching above its weight.

Judges said “without the large budgets and in a difficult environment, the Clifford Gardens Management Team showed great care in the way that the centre was presented”.

“In combination with a strong entry in the marketing award it achieved an overall score on par with the biggest and best centres.”

🎉 Congratulations Ryan Palm 🎉

Ryan Palm has taken home the 🏆 2024 Emerging Retail Property Professional Award.

As Services Manager at QIC’s Hyperdome Shopping Centre Ryan has had a rapid rise since starting as a security guard five years ago.

Judges were impressed by his drive and ability that has seen him work up to 2-I-C of the Operations Team at a major centre, working in several intermediate roles along the way.

The Judges felt there was little doubt he would continue this rise to Operations Manager and perhaps Centre Manager in the future.

In a field of strong contenders, judges felt that Ryan led the pack.

🎉 Congratulations Brookfield Properties and Portside Wharf 🎉

Portside Wharf has taken home the 🏆 2024 Retail Innovation Award.

The past year has been a particularly difficult year for retail generally with many centres reverting to ensuring the basics are right rather than innovating new ideas.

By putting new and original spin on leasing and incentives Portside saw a significant reduction in vacancies.

Judges said it was these concrete results that tipped the balance in favour of Portside.

🎉 Congratulations Buchan and Yamanto Central 🎉

Yamanto Central has taken home the 🏆 2024 Excellence in Development Award.

Utilising a gently curved mall layout to great effect, providing extended sightlines down each mall as pedestrians enter from the central access point off the ground level carpark.

The external alfresco area with an active playground that draws customers to the adjacent food and coffee tenants was a highlight for judges.

The resilient, durable and well considered finishes garnered praise from the judges as did the tenancy placements and fitouts for being considered holistically and being well managed.

Judges said “overall, the centre presented extremely well and its adaptability was evident in being able to meet future growth demands.”

A landmark of the Gold Coast, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre pulled ahead in a tight field with judges describing it as an exceptionally well-presented centre with all areas at the highest of standards.

Judges said “The main loading dock was described as faultless for a back of house area by judges while the garden beds were described as outstanding.”

The judges pointed to the standard and cleanliness of the internal common areas, carpark surfaces and landscaping as outstanding.

This, along with the very high standards maintained throughout the rest of the centre ensured a very high score which the judges felt needed a special mention.

Judges said, “in many past years this may well have been the top scorer and was only outdone by the exceptional standard set by this year’s winner.”
