Would You Bet Your Life On Your Offer?

How confident are you in your service?

Not “I hope it works” confident.
Not “most of the time it does” confident.
I mean bet-your-life, no-backdoors, guaranteed-results confident.

I watched a video of Jordan Belfort recently. Like him or not, he has something most salespeople don’t.
Total belief.

He doesn’t try to sound confident. He is confident. Because he knows he delivers. And when you speak from that place, people listen.

That kind of conviction can't be faked.
It comes from experience, from results, from truth.

So here’s the real question.

Do you believe in your offer like that?
Are you selling from confidence or from fear?

Let’s say you help people increase their sales.
Some of your clients have seen up to 20 percent growth in the first month.

It’s a great result, but you know it’s not typical. It depends on timing, market, and maybe a little luck.

The 5-Second Reset That Sales Pros Need to Know

Ever frozen up before hitting dial? Or felt that sinking feeling in your stomach before pitching to a high-stakes prospect?

You’re not alone, even the best of us face a bit of fear paralysis every now and again, the winners are the ones who push through it, and go for their goal.

Thankfully there’s a science-backed solution that takes just five seconds.

It’s called the 5 Second Rule, a concept made famous by Mel Robbins.

This technique is a simple but powerful psychological interrupt that shifts your brain from fear into action.

When hesitation strikes, your brain’s instinct is to protect you. It defaults to:
Freezing
Overthinking
Avoiding

But when you count backwards from five to one, 5... 4... 3... 2... 1, you interrupt that pattern.

Why it works: Counting backwards engages the prefrontal cortex, the part of your brain responsible for focus and decision-making. It breaks the emotional spiral and gives you back control at the exact moment you’re about to hesitate.

Imagine you’re staring at your screen. You know you need to call that lead. But doubt starts to creep in.

Or you need to walk in and introduce your self to this new potential customer, but you hear that tiny voice in your head telling you to wait.

5… 4… 3… 2… 1 — Action.

Make the call, walk in the door, ask that person out on a date, what ever it is, as soon as you hit 1, go for it.

That tiny decision to act changes everything.

The other day, a potential customer raised a pricing concern.
It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, I lean on a simple, powerful framework that’s served me well:
Feel. Felt. Found.

Here’s how it works:

Feel – You start by acknowledging how they feel. People want to be heard, not argued with.

Felt – You relate with empathy, sharing that others have felt the same way. This builds connection and trust.

Found – Then you show what they discovered after moving forward. The focus shifts to results and outcomes.

Now here’s exactly what I said to that customer:

✅ Feel: “I completely understand how you feel. Pricing is a big decision, and I know it’s something that deserves careful thought.”

✅ Felt: “You’re not alone. I had another customer who felt the same way. They were unsure if the investment would be worth it.”

✅ Found: “But after signing on, they found their sales jumped by 27% in just the first 30 days. Even better, their average order value increased by 18%, and customer satisfaction scores went up across the board. The owner told me, ‘I wish we’d done this six months earlier.’”

Here’s the truth: When people see the value, price becomes an investment, not an expense.

I recently received a cold DM that was a perfect example of how not to do outreach. It went like this:

“You already know that outsourcing isn’t just about cutting costs. The real problem? Rubbish project management! I don’t just provide offshore teams, I make sure they actually work! Let’s connect - I might be useful to you.”

Here’s why this kind of message fails (and what to do instead):

Assumption Without Qualification
It assumes I already believe outsourcing isn’t about cutting costs and that my problem is “rubbish project management.” There was no effort to ask what my challenges are, just an assumption thrown at me.

Aggressive & Uninviting Tone
“The real problem? Rubbish project management!” Feels confrontational. Instead of sparking curiosity, it tells me what my issues are without any context.

Self-Centred Messaging
The entire message is about them, what they do, how they ensure teams work. There’s no attempt to understand my business or how their service would actually help me.

Weak Call to Action
“Let’s connect - I might be useful to you.” This lacks confidence and direction. Might be useful? If you’re not sure, why should I be?

Lack of Personalisation
Other than my name, there’s nothing personalised here. No mention of my industry, my business, or why I might benefit from their service. It feels copy-pasted.

No Social Proof or Credibility
Why should I trust this person? There’s no mention of past success, client results, or why they’re worth my time.

Feels Like a Generic AI Generated Pitch
The structure screams “cold DM template.” It lacks personality, warmth, and a human touch.

The Fix:
Ask about their business first, don’t assume.
Use a warm, engaging, and human tone.
Focus on the recipient’s needs, not just your services.
Be confident, clearly explain how you can help.
Show proof of results or industry credibility.

Cold outreach shouldn’t feel cold. If you want real conversations, start by showing genuine interest.
