Yesterday, Breanna and I onboarded Cohort 2 of Lights On… and I’m still carrying the emotion with me.

During the session, one of the support workers said something that genuinely brought tears to my eyes:

“Thank you so much for doing this. There is such a need in the community and I can't tell you how much it means to Tommy to have this opportunity. I’ve been telling everyone and they’re just so thankful that you’re providing such a small, inclusive, trauma-informed safe space for disabled creatives to learn.”

This is why we do it.

Because the need is real. Because the talent is real. Because the opportunity hasn’t always been.

Disabled actors are not lacking ability. They are not lacking passion. They are not lacking talent. What they’ve often lacked is access, safety, and spaces where they are truly heard.

Lights On exists to change that.

When we create inclusive, trauma-informed spaces, we don’t just “support” creatives, we unlock potential that has always been there.

Don’t discount actors because they have a disability. Listen to them. Invest in them. Believe in them.

They are ready. They just need to be heard.

And we’re so proud to be part of making that happen.

Keep your eyes out for the next couple of weeks as I will be introducing you to each and everyone of our amazing creatives.

Waiting for opportunity? Stop.

Brisbane 2032 will demand the largest inclusive on-screen talent pool in QLD history.

The industry is preparing now.

Are you?

Lights ON is Australia’s only disability-led on-camera performance program.

This is not inspiration.

This is infrastructure.

An 8-week structured course.

Week 3–4: Train audition technique. Cold reads. Script breakdown. Take direction under pressure.

Week 5–6: Master self-tapes. Set up lighting. Capture clean sound. Submit to real casting calls.

Week 7: Train for TVC and commercial work. Hit timing. Align with brand briefs.

Week 8: Professional Head shots. Industry lessons, how to get agents.

Real productions.

Real representation.

Real careers.

Three pathways:
Actors & Talent.
Creators & UGC.
Access & Support Crew.

Led by industry professionals with lived experience.

30+ years of casting authority behind the program.

"Thirty years ago I was on that stage. Two gold records. Crowds who made you feel ten feet tall.

Today I find the people who deserve that same feeling.

Last week we completed our first Lights On cohort. Performers with disability. The most extraordinary human beings I have met in three decades in this industry.

Queensland has always had the talent.

Brisbane 2032 is coming. The world will be watching. These are the faces they need to see.

Drop LIGHTS ON in the comments if you believe every stage should be accessible to every performer.

You know what I hear all the time?

“We just can’t find the right talent.”

Let’s talk about that.

A year ago, a young performer walked into one of my workshops through Bus Stop Films. Brilliant. Present. Funny. The kind of screen presence you cannot teach. But there were barriers everywhere. Cost. Access. Transport. An industry that says it wants inclusion but rarely builds a clear path in.

That performer is now co leading Lights On with me.

Here’s the thing. The issue has never been talent. I have been a performer, talent manager and in casting for over 30 years. I know talent when I see it. What has been missing is infrastructure. Real training. Real sets. Real casting pathways. Real paid work.

So we built it.

Lights On is disability led. Designed by people with lived experience. Run inside a working casting agency. Not a side project. Not a feel good workshop. A pipeline.

You’d be amazed how quickly confidence rises when the environment is right.

And let’s be honest. Audiences are ready. Brands are ready. The global disability market represents trillions in spending power. Yet authentic representation is still lagging. That is not a talent problem. That is an opportunity problem.

Queensland has the chance to lead this. Brisbane 2032 is not just about sport. It is about who we choose to put on screen. Who we invest in. Who we back.

So here is my question.

If the talent is here, trained and ready, what are we waiting for?

If you are a producer, brand, agency or creative who wants to be part of this, reach out. If you believe representation should be bang on point, share this. Start the conversation.

Legacy is built now. Not later.

Actors. Creators. Storytellers.
This one’s for you 🎬✨

This February, Kayrooz is hosting Beyond Tokenism II: The Pathway Forward at the AACTA Festival Industry Day — and I’d genuinely love you in the room.

This panel is about more than being seen.
It’s about being included, employed, trusted and embedded in our screen industry.

💼 And real pathways — not side-lines or one-off moments

If you’ve ever felt like you were invited close to the industry, but not fully inside it — this conversation is for you.

EXCITING PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT! 🤝

We're thrilled to share the incredible organizations joining forces with Brock Casting Services to launch Lights On - Queensland's first disability-led on- camera training program:

🎭 Indel Arts - Our strategic talent pipeline partner! They provide
exceptional disability theatre training funded by Arts Queensland.
Their participants will have pathways into Lights On for on-camera development.
🎓 Australian Performing Arts Conservatory (APAC) - Providing venue
support and VET pathway integration. Liza serves on their Industry Advisory Board.
✅ Inclusively Made - Partnership for certification of inclusive production
standards, ensuring our graduates work on truly accessible sets.
