"“Life’s a beach and then you die.”

Winner of the Patrick White Playwrights Award, Hot Tub is a tragicomic fever dream set on the Gold Coast during Schoolies Week. Dido, a sad girl from North Queensland, arrives at ‘The Great White’—her estranged family’s crumbling beachside tower—seeking cash for weight-loss surgery in Brazil. When her father refuses, Dido teams up with her scheming t***k stepbrother to raise the money online.

Meanwhile, the family's ageing matriarch Eunice discovers she’s a suspect in a criminal investigation, but refuses to sell the building to keep everyone out of jail.

A satirical takedown of Australia’s tasteless upper crust, Hot Tub is packed with explosive secrets, cosmic justice, karaoke, and characters who will stop at nothing to protect their spot on the beach.

Hot Tub premiered at the Belvoir Street Theatre in 2024.

Time Out wrote:

Shamelessly crass and Aussie to the core … Pantomime-like-levels of camp and perverse parallels to the humour of Kath & Kim aside, Treston is able to pack in clever and unexpected deep cuts when it comes to commentary about the superficiality and greed that underlies modern life in Australia, as well as broader ruminations on the meaning of life."

Chookas, Natasha! 🙌🫶🙌

Chookas to Belinda Cornwell on the One Play Festival circuit adventure! Always a great journey, enjoy!

Who tells a story when the person who lived it was never truly heard?

Meet the Narrator of DAFFODIL.

A constant presence in Cecilia’s world, the Narrator watches, remembers and gives voice to the parts of her story that have been dismissed, rewritten and hidden away.

Through moments of tenderness, frustration and quiet understanding, she guides us through a story that asks us to look closer — at what is said, what is ignored, and what is left behind.

Don’t miss Belinda Cornwell as the Narrator in DAFFODIL, a haunting reimagining inspired by The Yellow Wallpaper.

Catch DAFFODIL at:

Beenleigh Theatre Festival - 31 July, 1 & 2 August 2026
Ipswich One Act Play Festival - 7, 8 & 9 August 2026

✈️❤️ After a whirlwind return home, we're already wishing Rebekah Schmidt "bon voyage!" as she heads back to London for her next adventure.

Fresh from making her European stage debut, Rebekah performed across Prague, Vienna, Amsterdam and Bremen after training with the Prague Shakespeare Company alongside leading international practitioners, including artists connected to Shakespeare's Globe. She took on the roles of Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Malvolio in Twelfth Night, a huge milestone in an already remarkable career.

The last 12 months has included directing a rehearsed reading of New Babylon by Stephen Carlton for YeahNah Theatre, directing Promised People Pay as part of Assembly + at La Boite Theatre Company, directing Primitives for Anywhere Theatre Festival, and touring Queensland with Queensland Theatre Company's The Scene Project, engaging with 136 schools over 10 weeks.

Creative, fearless and endlessly hardworking, Rebekah continues to make her mark wherever she goes.

We're so proud to be part of your journey, and while we'll miss having you close to home, we can't wait to see what this next London chapter brings.

Bon voyage, Rebekah. We know it's only the beginning 💙
