Fourteen years ago, Steve Baxter founded River City Labs with the belief that Queensland could build a world-class startup ecosystem. What began as a coworking space became a community, then a movement and, today, a national platform supporting thousands of founders, operators, investors, and innovators 🌐
But communities like this are never built alone.
From day one, McCullough Robertson backed the Labs before there was a roadmap, before there were success stories, and before anyone knew what Queensland’s startup ecosystem could become. For 14 years, they have consistently shown up for this community, not just as partners, but as genuine believers in founders and the future being built here.
Last week's event was a special night of reflection on Queensland’s innovation sector. The fireside chat with Pauline Fetaui, Aaron Birkby, and Ben Wood was an important reminder of just how far this ecosystem has come, and how many people helped seed it in the early days 🌱
To Steve Baxter, thank you for creating a place where ambitious people could collide, experiment, and build.
