We often think leadership is revealed in the big moments.
The promotion.
The presentation.
The difficult decision.
But leadership is usually revealed in the small moments no one applauds.
The way you respond when someone disagrees with you.
The patience you show when someone is struggling.
The calm you bring when emotions are running high.
The ability to make another person feel heard, valued, and safe.
I’ve seen people with no formal authority completely change the energy of a room.
Not because they were the loudest.
Not because they were the most senior.
But because their presence created trust.
And trust changes everything.
This is why I believe leadership is not something we do.
It’s something we transmit.
People can feel whether a leader is grounded or reactive.
Present or distracted.
Certain or performing.
Long before a leader speaks, the room has already felt their leadership.
Because people don’t remember your title.
They remember your presence.
