Platinum Blasting Services Technical Services Manager, Lachlan Jensen, had a blast joining industry leaders, project developers, investors, government representatives and resource professionals at the AusIMM North Queensland Resources Forum and 46th Sir George Fisher Lecture last week in Townsville.

Lachlan was impressed by the depth and diversity of North Queensland’s resources sector on display during the forum. His key insights gained from the events include:

✅ North Queensland is currently experiencing significant activity and investment across the resources sector.

✅ Several new and emerging projects are progressing throughout the region, including CopperString the restart of Phosphate Hill, the restart of gold and copper mines, and developments in graphite and vanadium battery technologies.

✅ The Queensland Government is actively supporting these opportunities through its New Critical Minerals Strategy, which provides a strong foundation for future growth and investment in the sector.

Thanks to all the speakers for the valuable knowledge and experience they shared, and to the AusIMM North Queensland Branch for organising such successful events.
