A huge thank you to everyone who recently celebrated Daffodil Day with our Angels.

It was wonderful to see people wearing and finding yellow, and creating comfort and connection for such a good cause.

The Daffodil Day campaign runs throughout August, raising funds for life-saving cancer research, prevention, and support.

Celebrating 150 years of the Ekka! 🎉

From your first Kewpie Doll to the westerly winds, Sideshow Alley and of course, the iconic strawberry sundaes 🍓🍦, the Ekka holds so many special memories for our clients and generations of Queenslanders.

They fondly talk about sitting on Machinery Hill eating fairy floss and going through their showbags, while taking in the sights and sounds of the Ekka!

As the Ekka moves into its next chapter, Machinery Hill will too, with a new hill and arena redevelopment set to open in 2028, creating a place for new memories while hopefully holding onto what has made it so special to so many of us.

Last week we were honoured to be part of a very moving and important conversation at the "Dying to Know You" Open Day in Bulimba.

Angels in Aprons Founder, Sharon Douglas, was invited as a guest speaker to talk about topics she's incredibly passionate about - flexible care, support at home, restorative care and end-of-life pathway.

As Sharon said:

"It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and so much genuine engagement. I had the privilege of joining the panel afterwards, with people asking incredibly thoughtful and important questions.

Today, we're celebrating Aged Care Employee Day, and we're surrounding our incredible Angel team in love and appreciation with our paper Care Chain. 💙

To our wonderful Angels, thank you for the compassion, kindness and dedication you bring to Mr and Mrs Smith in every home, every single day.

Each link in our Care Chain represents a client we've cared for and supported over the past year. Together, they tell a beautiful story of the Angel difference. ✨

Today we are celebrating Jess's FIRST YEAR as an Office Angel!

Many of you will remember her from being out in the community caring for our clients. When the chance came for her to join the office, it felt like the right fit. She already understood what matters most because she'd been there herself.

Jess now brings her big smile each morning, helping our Care Partners to coordinate care and support families behind the scenes.

Thank you Jess for everything you have brought to the team over the past year🤩
