Big news. The Phoenix Five Hand Puppets are coming, and the waitlist is officially open.

Picture this. Cody the Connection Quokka slipped onto your hand during story time, bringing the warmth of the Connection Cup® right into the room. Saffi the Safety Koala sitting quietly on the mat in a tricky moment, no words needed, just a reminder that everyone is safe and everyone belongs. Marli the Mastery Crocodile on hand for the big celebration when a child finally cracks something they have worked hard at.

Five needs. Five characters. Five ways to bring the Phoenix Cups® off the page and into little hands.

We are working hard behind the scenes to get these five to you, and our waitlist is where you will hear it first. Presale dates, sneak peeks, all of it.

Working from home means the line between “work space” and “life space” can blur pretty quickly.

Over time I realised something important: the space we work in can either drain our cups… or help fill them.

So I’ve been intentionally creating a workspace that feels calm and grounding. Natural light. Plants. A few meaningful objects. Soft lighting. A place to pause and reflect.

It might look like an aesthetic choice from the outside, but it’s actually about something much deeper.

When our environment feels safe, calm and supportive, it helps fill our safety cups. And when our safety cups are fuller, we think more clearly, respond more patiently, and show up more fully for the people around us.

Whatever your work environment looks like, the spaces we create around us matter.

Sometimes filling our cups starts with something as simple as the space we sit in each day.

What’s one thing in your workspace that helps you feel calm or grounded?
A plant? Natural light? A favourite mug? A photo of someone you love?

Five little friends have landed!

Our newest arrival has us grinning: The Phoenix Five finger puppets are here, and you can purchase these gorgeous puppets and playspaces from our good friends at Bellbird Kidz.

Based on our beautiful book The Phoenix Five, these five very different friends bring the story's characters, and their very different needs and strengths, right to children's fingertips. Pop them on and watch rich conversations unfold about how we feel, what we need, and how we can work together, one puppet at a time.

Through story and play, children begin building the language to express how they feel, what they need, and why it matters. We call this Needs Literacy, and it sits at the heart of wellbeing and growth. Finger puppets make it feel like pure play, which is exactly the point.

Bellbird have even created a gorgeous Phoenix Five playspace, where the five friends team up to build a treehouse, along with a free Playspace Card full of tips for creating your own.

Whose job is it to create a culture of wellbeing?

Ask any staffroom and you'll get the same answer: "a bit of both." Chris Phoenix's new blog explains why that answer falls apart under pressure, with help from a French philosopher and five very familiar Cups.

Here's the bit that stopped us: every signal you send at work, every time you value rest or model running on empty, becomes part of the culture someone else absorbs. The culture is the people. That includes you.

Read it, download it, then share it with your team: https://www.phoenix-support.com.au/blog/blog-1/whose-job-is-it-to-create-a-culture-of-wellbeing-157
