Not quite a carpet python... this ‘jag’ was caught lurking around a Calamvale residents courtyard last night. A jag is a ‘designer snake’ bred for the pet trade in such a way as to strengthen mutations that give unique colour and pattern morphologies! For this reason it can not be released into the wild and instead has gone to Biosecurity QLD. Hopefully they can track down the owner 👌🏻.. shout out to Dan Lynch for essentially writing this post haha

This red-bellied black snake took me multiple visits over two days to finally get. It had taken shelter in kitchen cabinetry and despite our best efforts could not be recovered. I finally got it this morning as it was seen by the homeowners poking its head from under the dishwasher!!!
