We’re thrilled to announce Nicholas Lindsay as Director of Scaling at Hypersonix! 💫

He joins the team with a career shaped by some of the most advanced aerospace environments in the world. From leading spacecraft testing and manufacturing activities at SpaceX to serving as a Naval Aviator and Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer in the U.S. Navy, Nick brings a unique blend of technical depth and operational decision-making under pressure.

💬 "I'm grateful to return to Hypersonix and support the team in delivering high-speed flight technologies that will change how the world perceives distance and time. With the right people, processes, and systems, we are executing at hypersonic speeds."

Bringing invaluable experience within the American aerospace sector, his role at Hypersonix is to work cross-functionally to ensure that our business has the right people, processes, and systems in place to operate with speed and efficiency and serve the growing needs of our customers.

His leadership approach is grounded in ownership, integrity and transparency – listening first, building trust, and giving teams the autonomy they need to deliver. Outside of work, Nick is often in the air or on the water. He’s a keen GA pilot, SCUBA diver, hiker, and sailor, and contributes to Angel Flight Australia and Scouting America.

By directly supporting our expansion into global markets, Nick’s skillset couldn’t be more aligned with Hypersonix’s mission, and we’re looking forward to the impact he’ll make!

We’re strong believers that collaboration is a key driving force for Australia’s aerospace future, and Hypersonix recently partnered with Gilmour Space Technologies to conduct vibration and thermal characterisation testing at their Common User Facility!

Testing spanned across two days on the vibration table and another half day for data processing, with thermal conditions ranging from 10°C to 60°C, capturing critical insights on how our hardware behaves under the demanding environment of hypersonic stresses.

This is a small but meaningful step forward for the DART program, and a reminder that the Australian aerospace ecosystem is stronger when we build it together. We’re proud to be working alongside leading sovereign innovators like Gilmour, who support our unified mission of advancing hypersonic capabilities - more testing updates coming soon!

Another incredible event hosted by the East Coast Forum in Brisbane, with Hypersonix Chair, Arthur Sinodinos, invited as guest of honour and keynote speaker.

Arthur shared insights into the Australia-United States relationship and how organisations can strategically navigate the evolving geopolitical landscape, particularly in trade, defence, national security, and sovereign capabilities.

Joining him at the forum were Co-Founder Michael Smart and CEO Matt Hill, who took the opportunity to connect with key stakeholders and partners actively supporting funding for Australian capabilities and international collaboration.

Eleven nominations. Six categories. One exceptional team.

The Hypersonix team has earned an incredible finalist shortlist at the 2026 Australian Space Awards, recognising the talent, dedication, and passion driving our mission forward. The Awards celebrate those advancing Australia's sovereign space capability, and we couldn't be prouder to see our people among them.

Jack Orton, Josh Sloman, and Simone Wilson have been shortlisted for Engineer of the Year, recognised for the technical depth and precision that raises the bar for Australian space engineering. Together, they delivered the scramjet engine, thermal protection system, and flight-critical airframe for DART AE.

Lachlan McTaggart, Jack Orton, and Alex Ward are finalists for Innovator of the Year. Each of them has brought fresh thinking to every challenge faced, delivering innovative solutions in vehicle architecture, control surface actuation, and additive manufacturing that made DART's flight possible.

Thorne Hanna-Spain and Mikaela Millerd have been shortlisted for Graduate of the Year, both showing the kind of capability that will define the next generation of Australian space professionals. Thorne owned DART's fuel system from design to launch site, and Mikaela built and validated the simulation models behind key design decisions.

Our team’s efforts are reflected at a company level too. Hypersonix was announced as a finalist for Business of the Year – SME and Engineering Business of the Year, with CEO Matt Hill shortlisted for Executive of the Year.

Congratulations to each of our finalists, and to the hard work behind every one of these nominations. We're looking forward to celebrating the awards night on June 18th in Sydney, along with the broader Australian space community.

Earlier this week, Hypersonix Board Chair Arthur Sinodinos took the stage at The Resilience Summit, convened by Salus Ventures at Machine Hall in Sydney.

This Australian-first event brought together over 300 of Australia's most accomplished entrepreneurs, investors, defence leaders, and policymakers to discuss the necessary financial and strategic shifts that our most innovative companies need to turn ambition into action – exactly where Hypersonix belongs.

Arthur's keynote delved into the strategic importance of cross-collaboration between Australia and the United States. He spoke openly about how relationships, trust networks, capital flows, and shared ambition don’t get built overnight. His message was clear; the Australia-US relationship isn't just diplomatic, it's foundational to our sovereign capability and demands sustained investment from both the public and private sectors.

During the summit, CEO Matt Hill caught up with Adam Gilmour of Gilmour Space Technologies, and reconnected with investment partners Christin Burns of North Ridge Partners and Will Scully-Power from Pine Gap. These relationships are pivotal to moving the needle and shaping the industry’s ability to advance and grow.

At Hypersonix, international partnerships aren't an addition – they’re a fundamental success factor. Building hypersonic propulsion systems that meet the demands of modern defence requires deep collaboration with allied nations, defence primes, research institutions, and governments who share our commitment and vision.

Hypersonix was honoured to be invited to speak at the Australian British Chamber of Commerce "Open for Business" breakfast, hosted at NSW Parliament.

We were privileged to speak directly with The Rt Hon Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley, Lady Mayor of the City of London, and NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey on the significance of attracting and enabling patient investment into the allied defence industrial base, how to succeed at scaling capability, and build resilience across the Australian-UK corridor.

CEO Matt Hill led the conversation on why now is the moment to commit investment into hypersonic technologies, innovation, and advanced manufacturing to grow sovereign Australian industrial resilience and strengthen partnerships. This discussion reinforced the need for bold, coordinated action and trusted capital that will shape our ability to maintain technological advantage.

Building on our longstanding partnership with The University of Queensland, Hypersonix was proud to sponsor a talented student team as part of their Engineering Major Design Project course.

The brief was to create a landing gear system for our next-gen VISR flight vehicle - designed for repeatable hypersonic defence applications in aerospace. The students rose to the occasion, successfully designing, fabricating and testing a scaled landing gear model, and proving their ability to translate complex concepts into tangible results.

Well done to all involved for your impressive work, especially Zali Martin, who has now joined the team as a graduate engineer! We’re excited to see what you achieve next in your engineering journeys ✨

Hypersonix was honoured to be part of the 5th Annual Pyne & Partners AUKUS Conference in Washington DC, for three days of focused discussion on the future of trilateral cooperation.

Board Chairman, Arthur Sinodinos, took to the stage as part of the conference's dedicated hypersonics and test beds panel, sharing how Hypersonix's work is advancing global hypersonic testing capabilities, including insights from our recent landmark DART AE flight under the US Defense Innovation Unit (DIU).

With hypersonics now a dedicated focus of the conference program alongside collaborative technology and exploring supply chain opportunities, it was a timely moment for Hypersonix to be involved in those conversations at the highest level of the AUKUS alliance.
