🚨 Heads up, Queensland construction businesses 🚨

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) has announced a statewide compliance campaign commencing February 2026, with inspectors focusing on falling object risks across construction sites - including cranes, scaffolding, formwork, EWPs and precast activities

These campaigns aren’t about “gotcha” moments, they’re about ensuring risks are properly identified, controlled and documented before someone is seriously injured. But make no mistake: enforcement action will be taken where safety duties aren’t met.

Now is the time to:
✔️ Review your risk assessments and SWMS
✔️ Check exclusion zones, containment and housekeeping controls
✔️ Ensure site documentation reflects what’s actually happening on site

We’re delighted to welcome Keelie Hogeveen as SafeAssure’s newest Junior WHS Consultant.

Keelie brings a diverse background in workplace health and safety, training, administration, and compliance, with hands-on experience supporting projects across Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Having recently completed her Certificate IV in WHS and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Keelie combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine passion for building safe, compliant, and supportive workplaces.

Her career journey spans across roles in HSEQ coordination, systems administration, compliance advisory and training, where she developed expertise in document management, subcontractor compliance, training coordination, audit preparation, and incident reporting. She has worked across industries including civil construction, bulk earthworks, and major infrastructure, building a reputation for her attention to detail and proactive approach to safety.

Based in Brisbane, Keelie is eager to hit the ground running, supporting SafeAssure’s clients and projects with tailored WHS advice, training, and on-site safety support.

We’re excited to have Keelie on board and look forward to the valuable contribution she’ll make to our clients, teams, and projects.
