I had the honor to speak in MIA Regional Migration Conference about the extraordinary experince I had helping our Iranian Women Footballers during their visa and migration journey earlier this year.
I also took this opportunity to talk about how the Iranian community feels at the moment, being traumatised with the current circumstances in Iran caused by the brutal regime in one hand, including the internet blackout, and the “unfair” travel ban imposed on Iranian visitors on the other hand, leaving the community feeling more devastated and left out.
I also invited everyone to work together and find a more effective and fair way yo filter the “unwanted” migrants who do not believe in Australian values, and support the great cohort of Iranian migrants who are contributing to Australia’s future and well being of the current society.
There was a great feedback in the room that filled my heart with hope.
It is a pleasure to be a member of Migration Institute of Australia and the beautiful network of professionals they support.
