ASJ is a passionate, driven team currently representing RSPCA WA across shopping centres and private sites throughout Perth. Their mission is to inspire the community to become regular supporters of RSPCA WA, helping to secure vital funding and ensure animals in need receive the care and protection they deserve.

From selling Paintball packages in his local shopping centre to building one of Australia's best fundraising teams

Matt grew up with a passion for planes, determined that one day he’d fly one himself and he did. While many childhood dreams fade, his became reality.

Life then took an unexpected turn. After following an Estonian summer romance, Matt found himself selling paintball packages in shopping centres across Victoria and around the world. It wasn’t glamorous, convincing people to play paintball when they hadn’t even considered it isn’t easy but it built something far more valuable than sales results. He developed resilience, grit and the ability to handle rejection, turning hesitation into commitment and conversations into outcomes.

So when he heard about the opportunity to work with a Victorian aeromedical charity and raise much needed funds on their behalf, he was on board quicker than we could say "When do you want to start?"!

Nowadays, he is well known across the fundraising industry in Australia and New Zealand for his outstanding quality, commitment to recruiting long-term donors and willingness to learn, listen and grow. He built a multistate fundraising company and treats his staff like family. They are all from various backgrounds too, some have worked in the medical industry, some have worked in retail and others decided to leave their customer service job to change the world one conversation at the time.

Sales is one of the most transferable skills you can have and one that every business needs to succeed. It's the ability to build trust, communicate value and inspire action. Strong salespeople don’t just drive results; they create long-term success.
