🐦⬛ MAGPIE SEASON IS HERE!
Spring has arrived, and so has magpie swooping season across Brisbane.
Australian magpies generally breed between August and October, making September a time when territorial behaviour can be more noticeable particularly around trees and nesting areas.
Keep an eye out for magpies around common areas such as:
• Walkways and footpaths
• Shared gardens and landscaped areas
• Car parks and driveways
• Parks and open spaces around your building
• Trees near building entrances
Magpies are generally protective of their nesting territory rather than the entire neighbourhood, so knowing where the nesting area is can help residents avoid unnecessary encounters.
🌿 A little awareness can go a long way toward keeping everyone safe during spring.
