Panda Recycling is proud to support WPC Cricket and the local community.
Bottle caps don’t need to be removed – just recycle the whole container.
Let’s make recycling simple and happy for everyone! ♻️

WPC has signed up for the Containers for Change partnership program where not for profit community organisations can have bins located at their facility, get free collections and some money coming to the club. Today Greg White and Ellen Ferris took delivery of our bins from Jay, from the Inala Containers for Change depot Panda Recycling . We are excited that this will mean we can recycle without needing significant volunteer effort, an often time consuming and dirty job. Now it is over to you, our members and visitors to do the right thing and only put containers for change recyclables in the bins - removing any caps or lids. Food scraps or other general waste are to go in the red lid bin as in the picture (please no liquids like partially full coffee cups which unfortunately regularly make their way in there).

Thank You, Sushi 🐾

Sushi has always been a happy little dog.

Last October, when we opened our Containers for Change shopfront at Inala Civic Centre, I brought Sushi with me every single day during the week before opening. While I was cleaning, setting up equipment, moving bins and preparing the shop, Sushi stayed by my side.

From an empty, closed shop that had been vacant for over a year… to what is now a community recycling hub in Inala — Sushi witnessed the whole journey.

Since opening, I go to the shop every day and work long hours. I don’t always have enough time to take care of Sushi the way I used to. But Sushi has never complained. Never demanded more. Just quietly waiting at home.

Sushi gives me emotional strength more than I can express.

I believe Sushi is proud of what we’ve built.
I also want to thank my family for their constant support — and most importantly, every neighbour and community member who supports this environmental and community initiative.
We will continue to work hard.

And I hope in the future, I can spend more time playing with Sushi again. 🐶💚

This afternoon, a small but meaningful moment happened right outside our shop at Inala Civic Centre.

One of our regular customers, Ms Huang, was selling a potted plant outside our storefront. Some of our other regular customers who were passing by became interested, but there was a language barrier and uncertainty about what the plant was. I used ChatGPT to help identify it, and we confirmed that it was taro (also known as elephant ear).
A practical issue then came up.

Ms Huang needed to be paid in cash, but the customers did not have any cash with them and could only make electronic payments. To help make the transaction possible, we agreed that the customers would transfer the money to me via PayID, and I would provide the cash to Ms Huang on the spot.

The result was simple but powerful —
Ms Huang was happy, the customers were happy, and everyone walked away smiling.

This moment perfectly reflects why I chose to operate a Containers for Change collection point at Inala Civic Centre.

I understand that parking here can be challenging. However, what truly matters to me is that this is a place with a strong sense of community and human connection. Our site is not just about recycling containers or operating a business — it is about being part of the local community, supporting people in practical ways, and helping where we can.

We aim to give back to the community in real, everyday ways.

If anyone in the community needs assistance and it is within our ability, we are always willing to help.

📞 One call, one quick response | Inala
Today I was already getting ready to head home at around 4:30 pm, when I suddenly received a phone call from a neighbour in Inala.
She said:
“Do you have time? I have about three bins of bottles at home. Can you come and collect them? I can send you photos.”
I replied:
👉 No need for photos — as long as you’re in Inala.
She said yes.
I said: 👉 Send me the address.
Three minutes later, I arrived.
When I got there, I realised she wasn’t exaggerating at all — there were three large City Council bins, with everything neatly sorted.
She then mentioned that she has a tenant,
and that the tenant drinks quite a lot.
When I saw the bottles, I honestly thought:
wow — this could easily be thousands of bottles.
What really touched me was this:
she helped me the entire time —
carefully packing the bottles, passing them into the van one by one, saving me a huge amount of physical effort.
After we finished, she even offered me a bottle of water.
At that moment, it really felt like
this wasn’t just recycling — it was neighbours helping neighbours.💚
That’s exactly why I started this small shop.
Our shop may be small, but we are fast, flexible, and responsive.
If our Inala neighbours need help,
and we’re able to do it — we won’t say no.
If you:
• Have too many bottles
• Don’t have time to visit the shop
• Need help clearing bottles from home, tenants, or a business
• Are looking for home collection

Today we provided a home collection service for Phap Quang Temple, and through the process we learned something truly meaningful.
All the containers collected there are donated by the community to the temple, allowing them to be turned into funds that support meaningful and positive work. That really touched us.
Later today, we’ll be delivering additional collection bins to the temple to help with better container management and to support a more sustainable, ongoing partnership.
If there are any churches, temples, or community organisations around Inala that would like to work with us through Containers for Change — turning containers into support for community or charitable activities — please feel free to reach out.
♻️ Every container can make a difference.

What a busy day! 🔥🐼

From 8am through the afternoon, our Inala shop was non-stop.

We helped countless neighbours recycle their containers and receive cash refunds — bag after bag, smile after smile. 💚

In the afternoon, during a short quiet window, I went around Inala and nearby suburbs to provide home collection services.

In total, we collected almost three one-tonne bags from 2–3 households — a big effort and a big environmental win.

Later on, we assisted a neighbour who arrived with a trailer full of containers.

What truly touched me was this: the refund he received will be donated to support students in Vietnam.

Moments like this are exactly why this work matters so much. ❤️

Even during my lunch break, I was still on the move — I picked up a large box of containers from one of our business partners in Willawong.

Honestly, exhausted, but incredibly grateful.

And tomorrow is already lined up — another home collection in the morning, a visit to a temple to discuss potential collaboration, and helping two local restaurant owners with their recycling.

Busy. Meaningful. Community-driven.
Let’s keep burning bright for Inala. 🔥🐼
