PART-TIME STAFF WANTED

Work Schedule:
• 2–3 days per week
• Long-term and reliable applicants preferred

Main Duties:
• Counting bottles and cans
• Assisting and serving customers
• Moving bins and general manual handling
• Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace

Requirements:
• Honest, reliable and responsible
• Hard-working and not afraid of physical work
• Able to perform manual labour and lifting tasks
• Friendly personality with good customer service skills
• Previous customer service or cashier experience is an advantage
• Must have legal working rights in Australia

NOW HIRING – Casual Shopfront Staff

Inala Bottle Refund Shop is looking for friendly, honest, and hardworking team members to join us.

If you enjoy helping people, working in a community environment, and are comfortable with some physical work, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
● Count, and process bottles and cans
● Assist customers with using the recycling machines
● Move recycling bins to the loading zone (physical work involved)
● Maintain shop cleanliness and daily operations
● Handle Cash payouts and customer refunds
● Assist with general day-to-day shopfront operations

Requirements
● English and Vietnamese language skills are necessary
● Good communication and customer service skills
● Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling work
● Honest and reliable, especially when handling cash
● Positive attitude and willing to learn
● Able to work well in a team environment

Training will be provided.

🌱 A Day of Home Collection – Panda Recycling
Today, I visited a customer who contacted me for a home collection.

He had more than 3,000 containers ready.

To be honest, I was still getting used to my new ramp and didn’t quite know how to set it up properly. While I was figuring it out, the customer came over and helped me install and level it.

Then he asked me to stand inside the van, and he passed the bags up to me one by one.

That moment really meant a lot.

When he found out this is my new business, he smiled and said:

“In the future, you will have many employees and make an even bigger contribution to society.”

💛 Why I love doing home collection

Over time, I’ve realised that what makes this work meaningful is not just the income, but two things:

1️⃣ Genuinely helping people
Some customers are elderly,
some don’t have a car,
some just need a bit of help.
Being able to support them makes me happy.

2️⃣ Customers truly care
Almost every customer I meet is kind, understanding, and willing to help.

Just like today.

Hôm nay tôi đến thu gom cho một khách hàng đã liên hệ với tôi.

Ông ấy có hơn 3.000 vỏ chai và lon.

Thật lòng mà nói, tôi vẫn đang làm quen với cái dốc mới và chưa biết cách sử dụng cho đúng. Khi tôi đang loay hoay, khách hàng đã đến giúp tôi lắp đặt và chỉnh cho cân bằng.

Sau đó, ông ấy bảo tôi đứng trong xe và chuyền từng túi lên cho tôi.

Khoảnh khắc đó thực sự rất ý nghĩa.

Khi biết đây là công việc kinh doanh mới của tôi, ông ấy cười và nói:

“Sau này bạn sẽ có rất nhiều nhân viên và đóng góp nhiều hơn nữa cho xã hội.”

Panda Recycling is proud to support WPC Cricket and the local community.
Bottle caps don’t need to be removed – just recycle the whole container.
Let’s make recycling simple and happy for everyone! ♻️

WPC has signed up for the Containers for Change partnership program where not for profit community organisations can have bins located at their facility, get free collections and some money coming to the club. Today Greg White and Ellen Ferris took delivery of our bins from Jay, from the Inala Containers for Change depot Panda Recycling . We are excited that this will mean we can recycle without needing significant volunteer effort, an often time consuming and dirty job. Now it is over to you, our members and visitors to do the right thing and only put containers for change recyclables in the bins - removing any caps or lids. Food scraps or other general waste are to go in the red lid bin as in the picture (please no liquids like partially full coffee cups which unfortunately regularly make their way in there).

Thank You, Sushi 🐾

Sushi has always been a happy little dog.

Last October, when we opened our Containers for Change shopfront at Inala Civic Centre, I brought Sushi with me every single day during the week before opening. While I was cleaning, setting up equipment, moving bins and preparing the shop, Sushi stayed by my side.

From an empty, closed shop that had been vacant for over a year… to what is now a community recycling hub in Inala — Sushi witnessed the whole journey.

Since opening, I go to the shop every day and work long hours. I don’t always have enough time to take care of Sushi the way I used to. But Sushi has never complained. Never demanded more. Just quietly waiting at home.

Sushi gives me emotional strength more than I can express.

I believe Sushi is proud of what we’ve built.
I also want to thank my family for their constant support — and most importantly, every neighbour and community member who supports this environmental and community initiative.
We will continue to work hard.

And I hope in the future, I can spend more time playing with Sushi again. 🐶💚
