ATEC, a division of Acrow, is proud to be partnering with Ideal Placements on a program designed to help individuals become job-ready for the construction industry.

In collaboration with MI Scaffold Pty Ltd, also a division of Acrow, a small number of trainees are selected and mentored through a structured pathway into work. Under the guidance of Rick Walton, trainees are supported over several months, building the skills, mindset and readiness required for site.

Once deemed ready, ATEC steps in to deliver targeted training, helping transition participants from learning into real onsite opportunities.

The program operates as a revolving model, allowing new participants to enter as others progress into employment. We’re also supporting an administrative pathway, giving trainees exposure to training processes, assessments and the expectations of working within the industry.

Delivered one day per week, this initiative is about more than training, it’s about creating real opportunities and building future capability.

Based in Mackay, Mitch plays a key role in delivering practical, industry-focused training through ATEC, preparing individuals for real-world site conditions.

Working closely with trainees, Mitch is passionate about building capability and creating pathways into the workforce, helping people develop the skills, confidence and mindset needed to step onto site safely and successfully.

A highlight of his role has been supporting programs in partnership with Ideal Placements, mentoring trainees through a structured journey into employment. From early exposure to training processes through to preparing individuals for site, Mitch is focused on setting people up for long-term success.

With a strong understanding of industry expectations, Mitch ensures training is hands-on, relevant and aligned to what’s required on site — bridging the gap between learning and employment.
