Bernadette and Max are driving in this year's Sh*tbox Rally. In a couple of weeks they'll set off in a car worth less than fifteen hundred dollars and head across some of the harder country in Australia to raise money for Cancer Council.
The Sh*tbox Rally is what it sounds like. A long way, in a car that probably shouldn't make it. Every year, a few don't. As much as the rally is a bit of fun, the crux of it is that cancer has touched so many of our lives, and continues to impact our friends, family, colleagues and community every single year. Just this year, a dear family friend is battling an incurable childhood brain cancer. No one should have to deal with that.
This raffle is our way of pushing the fundraising higher than we ever have before. Our overall goal for the rally is $15,000, and every ticket bought gets us closer. We've raised over $6,000 in donations and have just ticked past $1,000 in the raffle. Incredible.
Thanks to Anne K, Neville, Maree, Susan, Marg, Peta, Philippa, Therese, Valerie, Jordan, Antony, Marcella, Lea, Roy, Anne G and Kaye for your raffle tickets.
And to Neville, Sally, Vicki, Bob and Maria, Monica, Ian and Janet, Susan, Val and Norm, Vanessa, Melissa, Nick, Estelle, Alison, Morgan and Katey for your donations.
Three prizes drawn Saturday 27 June. Two nights at the Cottage with a hot air balloon flight and a Hunter Valley hamper. Two nights at the Bell Tent with a cheese platter on arrival. A six-pack of Broke Estate wine. Twenty-five dollars a ticket. Link in comments.
100% of proceeds go to Cancer Council Australia through the team's Sh*tbox Rally fundraising page. Raffle tickets aren't tax-deductible. If you'd rather take the deduction, the direct donation link is also in the comments.
