Kimberley Marine Support Base (KMSB) operates Terminal 2 at the Port of Broome, providing modern common-user marine infrastructure and integrated logistics capability for vessels and projects operating across northern Western Australia.
Representing approximately $250 million of private investment, KMSB Terminal 2 has added berth capacity, vessel capability and operating flexibility to the Port of Broome. The facility supports oil and gas and offshore operations, bulk minerals, cruise, livestock, defence, marine services and general cargo.
At the heart of Terminal 2 is a purpose-built floating wharf designed for Broome’s tidal range of more than 10 metres, enabling more predictable vessel access and cargo handling throughout the tidal cycle. The terminal accommodates vessels up to 348 metres LOA, with a 265-metre berth line, heavy-vehicle access, Roll-on/Roll-off capability, container and break-bulk handling, quayside staging and high-flow marine gas oil bunkering.
Approximately 5,400m² of just-in-time staging is available on the wharf, supported by around 1.5 hectares of port land already in service and a further 17 hectares available for customer development. This provides additional capacity for staging, mobilisation and broader project requirements.
By integrating marine access, quayside operations and landside logistics through a single operating base, KMSB provides customers with a flexible and efficient logistics solution. Operations can be coordinated around individual requirements, supporting the movement of vessels, cargo, equipment and people through Broome and across northern Western Australia.
