Breaking bread at the dinner table is what we all do, the Biblical origins are more literal and involve the actual breaking apart of a loaf of bread. This is such as wonderful thing to do and share with people, we forget in our daily rushed lives how important this is to do every day. It’s the process with which a food is verified as complying with its label description. Labeling and compositional regulations, differing by region and country. I want to begin sharing really meaningful topics to help both businesses and consumers navigate the world of manufacturing clean products and consumers making the right choices for their family when it comes to food choices.
New research shows that two thirds of all packaged foods on supermarket shelves contain added sugars - including some you might not expect - and they’re hard to identify, thanks to confusing terms used by food manufacturers. This is hard to believe but it’s true I have taught my kids to read ingredient lists and even nutritional panels (NP) to really understand if the product is good enough to go in the trolley. A good rule of thumb is under 10% per 100g of sugar when reading a NP. Do you read ingredient lists and NP? Let me know in the comments section, I would love to hear from you.

Here’s what you need to focus on; Product names front and center, use of illustrations to reveal what’s inside, and organically shaped colour blocking. When considering the type of packaging consider stacking strength, users ability to open and use, ability to be transported and use of eco-friendly packaging materials.
