Being busy is not the same as being effective.

Some days you can answer 47 messages, open Canva 19 times, rewrite one sentence for 40 minutes, check Stripe like it owes you money, move three Trello cards, panic-scroll Instagram for “research” and somehow still avoid the one task that would actually move your business forward.

Relatable? Same.

Busy is sneaky because it FEELS productive.

It gives you that little dopamine hit of “look at me doing things” while your real priorities sit chilling in the corner… waiting.

But effective is different.

Effective is the unsexy stuff that actually changes the game.

The offer you finish.
The email you send.
The page you publish.
The decision you stop overthinking.
The thing you keep avoiding because it might actually work.

A full calendar does not mean you are winning. Sometimes it means you are hiding inside tasks that feel safe, familiar and if you’re like me - perfectly colour-coded. 😂

This is your loving little reminder:

🧡 Stop worshipping busy.

🧡 Choose the thing that moves the needle forward... which sometimes is finishing your BAS, writing that lead magnet nap or doing a meditation to calm your farm.

You’ve got this 👌

There’s a reason small business owners are all making the same joke right now.

Behind the “new business partner Anthony” posts there’s something very real happening. Small business owners are tired and we’re angry.

And even if you don’t own a business, you know a small business owner.

They cut your hair.
They make your coffee.
They fix your car.
They run your local gym.
They own your fave brunch spot.
They grow your food.
They sponsor your kids’ sports team.
They employ your friend, your partner, your neighbour, your teenager.

Small business is called the backbone of Australia, but there’s only so much you can bend a bone before it breaks.

So yes, small business owners are making jokes about Albo becoming their newest business partner.

Because sometimes humour is the only way to say what people are really feeling.

If someone works their backside off for years, takes risk after risk, creates jobs, supports families, pays wages, and builds something from the ground up, they should not be punished at the very moment they finally get to sell what they’ve built.

For so many business owners, selling is not some random windfall. It is the reward for years of risk, pressure, missed weekends, unpaid hours and backing yourself when no one else was carrying that risk for you. That sale might be your retirement plan, your family’s security, or your chance to finally breathe after decades of work.

And that’s why this has hit such a nerve.

Because a strong small business sector matters to all of us.

It means more local jobs.
More choice.
More opportunity.
More families supported.
More communities with life, character and heart.

Do better, Albo.

Stop biting the hand that keeps Australia going.

Support small business.

Your business will usually show you where you’re leaking energy before it shows you where you’re leaking money (and a lot of the time the $$ is an effect of the cause).

If you’re constantly feeling scattered, behind, resentful, overwhelmed or unclear, don’t ignore that.

Look at what keeps draining you.

Is it unclear offers?
Too many platforms?
No proper systems?
Clients who need stronger boundaries?
Content with no plan?
A business model that no longer fits the life you actually want?

Sometimes the next level of growth doesn’t start with doing more… though our ego and ‘I’m not enough’ stories love to tell us that.

It starts with noticing what is taking up your energy - sometimes completely invisibly on the down low.

Check out this list and tell us… is there something taking up your energy that you’re ready to reorganise and maybe even… let go of?

I used to go to bed every night and tell myself, “Tomorrow I’ll go for a walk.”

And then tomorrow would come. And I wouldn’t.

That night, I’d say it again.

“Tomorrow. I’ll do it tomorrow.”

But deep down, I knew I was lying to myself.

I was saying it to feel better about the fact that I was prioritising everything in the world except me.

Then my back injury happened in 2023.

And when it was at its worst, I couldn’t really leave the house at all.

One of the first things I had to do was start moving my body again. Bit by bit.
I started with four-minute walks.

FOUR MINUTES.

I would put my back brace on, walk nervously out the front door, down the driveway, across the road, do one tiny circle and come home.

About 100 metres.

It took me the full four minutes.

Then I’d climb back into bed, burning with pain, but weirdly excited because I had done it.

Sometimes I’d happy cry. Sometimes I’d sad cry.

Then I started doing that 4 mins twice a day.

Then four times a day.

Eventually, four minutes became six.

Then eight.

And now I walk every day.

I’ve barely missed a day in months.

I can walk for 35 minutes now.

I’m still not super fast, but I’m there.

It’s a non negotiable for me now and legit one of my favourite parts of my day.

It’s never - I have to go for a walk… It’s I GET TO.

Most days I walk near my house, along the parkland, because being near the trees makes me feel like I’m coming back to myself.

It’s funny how the things we know are good for us can be so easy to put off.

Until life gives you one of those brutal reminders about what actually matters.

And suddenly, the daily walk becomes one of the easiest things in the world to prioritise.

Not because you “should”.

Because you finally realise you are worth showing up for.

I’ve been quiet on here for a while. Two years mostly homebound recovering from a back injury will do that 🩷

And while I’ve still been working, creating, learning, building, thinking and healing behind the scenes... I also had to practice what I so often talk about - boundaries. Knowing your capacity, honoring your energy, and being willing to let go of things you genuinely can’t keep holding up.

For me, this page was one of those things.

I keep coming back to the same thought though.

Women in business need more spaces that feel useful, real and actually human.

Building a business can be incredible, but it can also feel messy, emotional, confusing, exciting, lonely, expansive and completely overwhelming, sometimes all in the same week.

There are the visible parts - the launches, the wins, the posts, the offers, the client work.

Then there are the parts people don’t always see - the self-doubt, the big ideas, the decision fatigue, the financial pressure, the healing, the life stuff, the late-night overthinking, and the constant evolution of who you are and what you’re building.

So I’m bringing this space back for conversations about business, mindset, confidence, clarity, creativity, leadership, visibility and the inner work that comes with building something of your own.

If you’re here, I’m so glad and grateful you are.

Today calls for celebration baby! After two years stuck at home healing from a wild back injury - today I went to a real freaking cafeeeeee. Sat down and everything 😭 Rocked out with my little support pillows and a few walks to keep everything happy and moving. Boom! Healing like a boss. 🩷 Grateful for the little things
