Margaret River first ECO Destination in WA! 🌱

After an 18 month journey, we're delighted ahead of World Environment Day to announce that the Shire of Augusta Margaret River has been certified as an ECO Destination!

The globally recognised certification saw an independent auditor travel to the region to assess the evidence across 105 criteria that demonstrate Margaret River’s commitment to best-practice sustainable management.

A great place to live is a great place to visit, and this certification helps position the region as a destination for responsible, low-impact visitors. Becoming an ECO Destination is not just a Shire achievement – it is a result of the hard work of the whole community: non-profits, volunteers, local businesses, and residents.
