Our inaugural Long Haul Awards.

Last week, we brought together employees, partners, family and friends for the first MGM Bulk Long Haul Awards, recognising the people who have spent a significant part of their working lives with our business.

Across the evening, we recognised employees reaching 10, 15 and 20 years of service, along with two retirement awards acknowledging careers that have contributed significantly to MGM and the Giacci family businesses over many years.

Long service means a great deal to us.

Our business has grown considerably over the years, but that growth has been built around people. People who have turned up, stayed committed, shared their knowledge and grown alongside us.

The Long Haul Awards were created to properly recognise that contribution and, importantly, to celebrate it alongside the partners and families who have supported our people throughout their careers.

For our inaugural event, we wanted to create a night worthy of that recognition.

Set within one of Bunbury's beautifully restored heritage buildings, The Old Lyric provided the setting for an evening featuring a curated menu and service from Bec and Brenton and the team at Market Eating House, with MR & Mrs Smith ensuring there was no shortage of jazz, sax and funk throughout the night.

We were also privileged to have Australian boxing great Danny Green join us alongside his son Archie and Rory Booth. Hearing Danny reflect on his career, the lessons learned along the way, the importance of consistency and commitment, and what life looks like beyond professional boxing was a great addition to the evening.

A night like this takes plenty of work behind the scenes.

A big thank you to our creative partners at The View From Here for bringing the entire event brief together, from the design and layout through to signage, content and production. A special mention to John Calabro for stepping in as MC for the evening. You absolutely killed it, and we may have already found our MC for next year.

Thank you also to Design Awards for producing our 10, 15 and 20 year service awards and retirement pieces. The quality was exceptional, particularly given the short turnaround and getting everything across from Sydney in time for the night.

And to Totally Sound & Front Line Signs & Graphics , thank you for bringing the AV, production & signage together and helping us deliver the night as it was intended.

Most importantly, congratulations to every one of our Long Haul Award recipients.

The trucks, equipment and projects may change over time, but it is the people behind them who build a business.

Thank you for the years you have given MGM, for the contribution you continue to make, and for choosing to be part of our journey.

The first Long Haul Awards, and certainly not the last.

Last week marked an important milestone for our team as our new Ultra Quad Road Trains completed the first loaded ore haul from McPhee Creek to the Roy Hill mine.

With months of planning, mobilisation and preparation leading to this moment, it was a proud milestone to see our team safely load, haul and deliver the first of millions of tonnes to come.

The run was completed successfully, with the operation performing exactly as planned. A great outcome and an exciting glimpse of what lies ahead.

Across the project, momentum continues to build every day.

Additional Ultra Quad Road Trains are being commissioned and prepared for service. Workshops, infrastructure, and operational facilities are ramping up.

This project represents another significant chapter for MGM Bulk, and one that showcases the capability, commitment, and professionalism of our people.

A huge thank you to every member of the mobilisation, workshop, maintenance, operations and project teams who have helped bring McPhee Creek to life.

We look forward to further supporting Hancock Iron Ore in delivering this exciting new operation safely and reliably.

Not every truck driver follows a traditional path and Billi Brayshaw is proof of that.

A true Pilbara local, Billi has spent a lifetime collecting stories. From riding horses through the Macca's drive through as a teenager, to running drag cars, working across a range of industries and eventually finding herself behind the wheel of some of the largest road trains in the country.

Today, Billi is one of our Quad Operators, hauling iron ore across the Pilbara and doing a job she genuinely loves.

Episode Five of Heart of Haul follows Billi's journey into trucking, her life on the road and the experiences that shaped the person she is today.

Full of character, straight talking and never afraid of a challenge, Billi's story is a reminder that there is no single pathway into the transport industry.

A real look at the people behind the wheel and the opportunities available across our Northwest operations.

Thinking about making the change? Join the team today.

A few weeks ago, this fleet broke the internet... quite literally!!!

For many people, the sight of more than 20 brand new ultra quad road trains lined up with such precision simply seemed too good to be true. In fact, many were convinced the footage had been AI generated.

The reality is far simpler.

These photos capture a moment at the MGM Bulk Golden Eagle Workshop, where Western Australia's largest and newest ultra quad road train fleet has been commissioned and stands ready to commence haulage operations for Hancock Iron Ore on their new McPhee Creek Project.

Since these images were taken, a further three combinations have arrived on site, with more continuing to roll in each week.

Across the project, our workshop facilities, administration offices and drive through truck wash have now been commissioned, four new CAT 982 XE wheel loaders have arrived, and the site continues to take shape as we move closer to commencement.

Every week, the project gathers momentum.

More trucks arrive.

More infrastructure comes online.

More people join the team.

What was recently a Greenfield's development is rapidly transforming into a fully operational haulage project.

We are proud to be strengthening our partnership with Hancock Iron Ore and look forward to bringing this new operation to life alongside our client and the many MGM people who have worked tirelessly to get us to this point

Soon, these trucks will be doing exactly what they were built to do.

09/06/2026

We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the 2026 Kenworth Legends at this year's Australian Trucking Association Conference.

For our family, this recognition means more than we can adequately put into words.

What started in 2004 as MGM Limestone, operating a small fleet of second hand Kenworth K104s and T604s hauling quarry and construction materials throughout Western Australia, was built on a simple belief: work hard, look after your people and deliver on your word.

We ran that business throughout the South west for many years until the time came to get back into the bulk haulage industry.

In 2014, MGM Bulk was established and secured its first major haulage contract with WA Salt. The project introduced a fleet of purpose built Kenworth K200 8x6 pocket road trains and marked the beginning of a new chapter for our business.

At the time, it was one contract.

Looking back now, it was the catalyst for everything that followed.

Over the next decade, we were fortunate to earn the trust of some of Australia's leading mining, resources and industrial companies. With every new project came new opportunities, new challenges and new people who helped shape the business along the way.

Today, MGM Bulk operates more than 220 Kenworth prime movers, over 1,000 pieces of trailing equipment and employs more than 800 people supporting operations across Western Australia.

Each year our fleet travels more than 42 million kilometres, moves in excess of 16 million tonnes of product and operates with more than 20,000 tyres on the ground at any one time while specialising in volume, systems and scale.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

This recognition is about the people behind them.

The operators driving through the night. The workshop teams keeping assets moving. The supervisors, schedulers, administrators and leaders who have helped build this business one day at a time.

It's about the customers who trusted us with their freight, the suppliers who backed our growth and the partnerships that continue to support our future.

Most importantly, it's about family.

The values that Mario, Giudi and Michael set out to build the business on more than two decades ago remain the same values that guide us today.

To Kenworth, PACCAR, CJD and Cummins, thank you for standing alongside us throughout the journey.

When you're operating equipment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across millions of kilometres and moving millions of tonnes, there is no such thing as a perfect product.

What matters most is the people behind it.

Over the years, we've worked together to overcome challenges, improve equipment, develop new solutions and continually raise the standard of what these trucks can achieve in some of the toughest operating environments in Australia.

The trucks have been a major part of our story, but the relationships behind them have been just as important.

For that, we are incredibly grateful.

To every employee, customer, supplier and supporter who has been part of the journey, thank you.

We are honoured to be recognised as the 2026 Kenworth Legends.

Operators are in the latest Kenworth models, purpose built for the task and maintained to a high standard.

This is long term, stable work backed by proper gear and a pipeline to support it.

At McPhee Creek, the brief is simple. Move more tonnes, with less. That thinking sits behind the decision to bring a fleet of 982 XE loaders into the operation for Hancock Iron Ore, not as a change for the sake of it, but as part of a broader approach to how the job is built from the ground up.

Out here, the difference is rarely made in one moment. It shows up over time, in how consistently the operation performs across every shift. The equipment you choose plays a direct role in that. These machines are delivering up to 25 percent lower fuel burn, with the same reduction in emissions, while running at lower noise levels and extending service intervals out to 1000 hours. Over the life of a contract, that is where the real impact sits. Less fuel per tonne, fewer interruptions, and a more stable operation day in, day out.

On the ground, it comes back to how the machine carries itself through the cycle. There is a steadiness to it. The flow holds, loads are placed accurately, and the job can be repeated without variation creeping in across the shift. That kind of consistency is what allows an operation like this to scale without losing control of the detail.

For us, this is nothing new. The business has been built over generations on backing decisions that hold up over time. Being a family operation means the focus has always been long term, building relationships that are earned through performance and maintained by delivering the same standard every day.

Working alongside Hancock Iron Ore, and with the continued support of WesTrac Cat, this is what efficiency at scale looks like.
