Who else finds it really hard to clear out their phones?! I get so distracted.
I must have been trying to make a video here and didn't make it to the taking the zinc off with Santé bit, I promise you it all wiped straight off. It always does 🤣🤣

We went to the screening of this week. Was a great watch and a really interesting chat with some local people about what they are doing in their industries to contribute to regenerating Bundaberg, which in turn regenerates so much more- the reef, ocean, bushland etc. I'm cynical of some of the things that were spoken of particularly when it comes to agriculture. But to hear of their efforts was at least comforting. There is always the question-why is our council planting 1 million trees and cutting them down by the 1000 to build more single story homes which will inevitably lead to greater infrastructure and more water pollution? Which even the representative was clearly displeased with. But still everyone plant more trees! Landowners did you know you can get up to 250 native free trees?!?!
I think the thing that resonated most for us was the view point that "when country is sick, people are sick. And our country is sick" and it's not too late to turn things around. We are all here to take care of our home.
We've been having some interesting chats with people since then and I love that Sapphire can get in on it talking all things soil, plants, health, air quality, corruption, reef, corporations, connection and most of all love of life for all.
Even her friends her age have questioned her efforts on things like not using plastic because "she is only one person and won't make a difference". We are all only one person, until we stand together as 7.8 billion people!!! Sapphire knows that she counts and that her actions and words matter. It's because of meeting people like the guest speakers at Regenerating Australia, the disbelievers and the encouragers that we get to discuss these things. So thank you all 😍

I've been waiting 3 years for this day!!! Finally got our floors done and we love them. And I love that it takes me 2 and half minutes to clean the front room! No more vacuum cleaner for us!!!

At least Times Square sees what's going on!!! Australia has put the most species in to extinction in the shortest amount of time. Keeping our consumerism in check and switching some lights of is important.
Fox Resources wants to open a coal mine next to the GreatBarrier Reef, in Australia's food bowl and our government are considering it right now.
I've been struggling the last couple of weeks with the level of entitlement we as humans feel. I don't believe the world is over populated. We just consume meaninglessly and excessively and this beautiful planet can't supply the demand. My focus this week is making sure that my actions and consumption reflects my intention and hopes for the planet.

Non stop cool stuff to see on . You literally can't walk 50m in any direction in or out of the water without seeing some kind of natural wonder. And if you take the time to really observe what you're seeing it gets all the more incredible. Sea cucumbers are exciting enough as it is. But a half eaten dead one, now that's something! Having there to open our eyes and minds to the little things in life was such a treat. Taking the time to admire polyps, bird poo nests, dead things and all that goes with it was awesome Thank you!...again. The dinner conversation tonight of mating turtles was gold 🤣

Because we care!! Super blessed to be able to not just tell Sapphire but show her why we make the choices as consumers that we do. After all, we are all consumers, inhabitants of this planet and responsible for protecting her. Have you tried Santé by ENJO for getting your Surf Mud off yet?! Did you know they do face cleansers, exfoliators and body cleansers? No need for soaps, showergels, microbeads, chemicals, refills, big toiletry bags, face wipes, next to zero shedding in our oceans. You can ditch it all! And yes, the body one will clean smelly armpits 😅 And in a few years when they need replacing, send them back and they'll be upcycled in to car or house insulation to keep them out of landfill. Blimmin' love that!!

We started doing a few months ago in attempt to use less coal because joining our local Moore Park Beach Action Group who are opposing a coal mine in our area has made us more aware of our contribution to the problem. Sapphire loves doing Earth Hours and having a complete blackout and we'll go and cook dinner on the fire and make hot chocolate.
We aim for One Light At Night at least once a week. I love that it means we spend even more time in the same room! But there's something special about that meal prep time. Sapphire gets so creative and the bonus is her creations taste really good. She even went out and picked mint from her own little garden to garnish because she's fancy like that 😉 the chats that we have during this time are treasured.

One Light At Night is really easy....you just have to try and only ever have one light on in the house at night. We go through phases. Sometimes we'll do it several nights in a row. Sometimes it's once a week. It's tricky but fun. Sometimes we use a candle or a torch if we need it. I don't know how it would work with bigger families but let us know if you give it a go!
Plus, it does wonders for the electricity bill!
