📚Year 6 Kalkie State School students - Aari, Luisa, Kim, Bree and Eva - have developed a video game concept around the unique trees and birds on Lady Musgrave Island. Their idea is one of 36 projects shortlisted in a national competition.

🍃 The group's game is Flee the Foliage - The Great Escape, where male noddy terns fly around Lady Musgrave Island looking for the perfect leaves to make a nest. Sadly, the same trees that form those perfect leaves also form sticky pods that impede flight. Eventually with enough seed pods stuck to their feathers, the noddy terns die and become fertiliser for the trees they live in.

🎮 If the team make the top 10, they will travel to Sydney to meet game creators who will turn their vision into a fully-functioning game. But they need your help to get there!

Entries for the Bundaberg Art Prize are Now Open with over $20,000 of Prize Money up for grabs and $10,000 going to our overall First Prize Winner.

Spread across 4 different sections encompassing all of the Visual Arts: each of the sections: Easel Works; Works on Paper; Digital Media; and 3D Works attracts a $2,000 Prize

With an additional $1,000 going to the best Young Emerging artist aged under 26.

Entries CLOSE on Friday 2nd Septmebr with the Exhibition open to the public from Saturday17th September.
