🌧️ Hope everyone is getting some of this rain!

While it’s coming down, we’ve been going through the rams and ewe hoggets up at Mount Eba.

Paul has been classing through the ewe hoggets, identifying the better genetics to retain and continue pushing the flock forward. At the same time, we’re going through the rams ahead of joining — making sure they’re sound, structurally correct and fit to do the job.

It’s about continually selecting the right genetics, while making sure the rams heading out to work are sound, functional and ready for joining.

Accurate wool testing starts with a better measurement

Our portable OFDA 2000 measures thousands of individual fibres across the length of each wool sample, providing and accurate average micron along with a detailed micron profile. Used in office or on farms

By measuring from tip to base, we can see how fibre diameter has changed throughout the wool-growing period - helping identify the impact of season, nutrition and growing conditions.

The OFDA camera identifies individual wool fibers while excluding foreign material such as seeds and vegetable mattter, giving you confidence in the results.

And getting your wool tested is simple - collect, label and bag your samples, then send them into us. Or book in to have done in farm where our trained technicians can test up to 100 samples race side per hour.
