THIS IS A COOL VAN! ⚡️⚡️

Here is the first full EV van we have towed.
It is a pretty interesting vehicle, and we will probably start seeing more of these.

The owner of this one unfortunately misjudged how much extra electricity it would use when driving into a strong headwind in bad weather, and ran out of charge. A quick tow to a charging station and they were all sorted.

It is worth noting that we semi-regularly get calls to help people who have run out of petrol or diesel, so this is not a new issue with EV vehicles…. Just different fuel!

ACCIDENT RECOVERIES 💥

An essential part of offering a tow service is responding to vehicle accidents. They can present interesting technical challenges to safely recover, secure and transport the damaged car.

👉 The locations are often difficult to access, sometimes requiring multiple staff, recovery vehicles and extra equipment.

👉 Highway work requires careful management of traffic to ensure safety, whilst minimising disruption to other road users.

👉 Whilst often heavily smashed up, we need to make sure we are not causing any further vehicle damage.

👉 We clean up the surrounding area of debris.

👉 Vehicle occupants are often injured, and may be hospitalised, so where possible we deal directly with insurance companies or other family members to minimise any extra stress for those directly involved.

👉 Storing the vehicle until the insurance company does their assessment or the owner is in a position to decide what they wish to do with the damaged vehicle.
