ETS is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of James, one of our valued trade partners from Rain Constructions. Our hearts are with Emma and her two beautiful children, Jahla (12) and Malia (10), as they face this incredibly difficult time.

As we head toward Christmas, our teams have completed approximately 1182+ make-safes across Australia this week, helping families feel safe and secure for the holidays. ⭐

Storm season doesn’t pause for the holidays.

The Christmas and New Year period coincides with peak storm season, increased travel, and higher household activity—making it one of the highest-risk times of the year for property damage. Common incidents include storm-related roof damage, water ingress, burst pipes, electrical faults, and flooding, often occurring when occupants are away or response times are critical.

Emergency Trade Services (ETS) supports insurers and clients during this period by:

1. Responding quickly to storm-related incidents, including water damage, roof leaks, electrical hazards, and structural safety risks.
2. Making sites safe immediately to protect occupants, trades, and the property.
3. Preventing secondary loss, such as mould growth, electrical damage, and further water ingress
4. Coordinating qualified trades to stabilise the situation while permanent works are arranged
5. Providing continuity of service over Christmas and New Year, when access to trades can be limited

By operating through storm season and the holiday period, ETS helps reduce disruption, protect claim outcomes, and provide peace of mind to families and occupants during an already stressful time.

After heavy rain or storms, never approach fallen powerlines or attempt to turn the power back on if water has entered your home. Always wait for a licensed professional.

⚠️ Roof Safety Reminder
Avoid climbing onto damaged or wet roofs — even “quick checks” can lead to serious injury. Leave inspections and temporary fixes to trained trades.
