It was a pleasure to present to a great turnout for the BusinessSJ event last week, about the open grant programs available to businesses in the Peel Region and beyond.

On Saturday I hit another milestone - my 200th Parkrun.

Did I try to break a PB to mark the occaison. No.

I walked the 5km with my daughter and our new puppy Izzy who was on her first ever Parkrun. We celebrated her nervous navigation of bridges and boardwalks, and her wide-eyed fascination with all the runners on the course.
Then we enjoyed a few home-cooked treats with the Parkrun family at .
I didn't even think about my time or that I didn't run the course.

What it was about for me:
- a celebration of a commitment to long-term fitness goals personally over the past 9 years.
- a celebration of my family and having them join me on my milestone run (walk).
- a celebration of a wonderful community of people who have become friends, who are there every Saturday for a coffee or a chat, who were there to cheer me on.

🏅Physical goal challenge COMPLETE as a finisher of the HBF Run for a Reason Half Marathon on Sunday. Downpours, flooded paths, soggy feet... but it was all worth it and it is a fantastic event that raises so much money for great causes!

As a newby to longer distances than a 5km Parkrun, the biggest learning from the experience is how much of it is a mental game.

The hardest part was pushing to longer distances: 8..10..12..14..16..and now 21km. I was in a comfort zone.

Whether its personal or business goals, we apply our own ceiling to our results or capability, often without realising it.

I have worked with business owners who once thought $1m revenue a month was impossible and it held them back until they challenged and overcame this belief. Then it was remarkable how quickly their results grew from there.

I thank who convinced me to set a physical, as well as business goals, for the year. What's better, she ended up joining me for the big event!

Now onto planning how to better my performance next year....
