Christmas is a time for giving. It is also a helpful time to put on the oxygen mask. That is, look after yourself so you can be at your best. Which, as it turns out, helps you give your best to others. However, it’s quite likely your 2018 schedule has been overloaded with work and ‘life admin’...

Sometimes what we set out to do - what we feel like doing - is quite the opposite of what we most need at the time.
-
Couch and wine vs. a run and green smoothie, for example...
-
Yesterday saw me unintentionally receive the opposite of what I thought I was getting. The yin to the yang, quite literally, when I went to yoga...
-
It got me thinking, so I decided I’d share my Mindful musings in this video and the decisions made on the back of them in the photo.
-
You see - I had a breakfast meeting at a beautiful French cafe straight after this video. My love of Paris, the French styling and vibe of the cafe, and of course, the menu, all made me want eggs for breakfast.
-
I paused... I tuned into what I believed I actually needed, instead of my most immediate appetitive desires (pun intended).
-
I opted for a smoothie bowl at the French cafe instead. Not a traditional meal, I know, but exactly what I needed.
-
Can you be mindful to pause when faced with desires and decisions and tune into what you would actually most benefit from, instead of what you initially think or feel like?

Wait a minute!
-
I’m sharing some heart felt reflections on some forgotten skills we will all benefit from practising this time of year (and all the time, to be honest).
-
Excuse my squinty face - it was super sunny today!
-
Happy holiday season everyone 😁

Pauses, Popup Parks and the Present Of Presence!

It’s a busy time of year. Chaotic even.

Maybe you’re busy at work.
Maybe you’re busy with family and friendships.
Maybe you’re busy in your personal life.
Or, maybe the busyness is what’s going on in your head.

Aaaaaand, maybe it’s all of the above...

Take a pause. Even if you hit some resistance. Pause. Notice the tendency to just keep pushing. Pause instead.

This is one gift to ourselves at this time of year :)
