What happens when you stop presenting information and start inviting people into the story?
That was the question behind last night's Communicating the Energy Transition: From Insight to Public Understanding event, the first Story Room collaboration between 89 Degrees East and WildBear Entertainment
A huge thank you to our panellists, Fleur Anderson, David Shankey, Dr Rebecca Huntley, Michael Tear and Rosemary Barnes, for sharing their expertise so generously and to everyone who joined us and embraced the hypothetical with curiosity, creativity and good humour.
The hypothetical wasn't about finding the "right" answer. It was about creating a safe space to explore different perspectives, challenge assumptions and think differently about complex policy and communications challenges.
The conversations throughout the evening reinforced something we've believed for a long time: when people are actively involved in the conversation, rather than simply being presented with information, the quality of thinking changes.
Thank you to everyone who helped bring the evening together, and to everyone who came along and contributed. This feels like the beginning of something exciting, and we're looking forward to continuing the conversation.
