Over the past few years, we’ve been looking closely at where the olive industry is heading - and what we need to move forward.

This video marks the official launch.

It speaks to the challenges we’re facing, the gaps that still exist, and why connection across our industry matters more than ever.

Today, I’m introducing OliHUB ... the professional hub for everyone in the olive industry.

A place where growers, producers, processors, and industry professionals can:
• access more practical, reliable knowledge
• use tools that support better decisions
• connect, share insights, and learn from each other through networking

Because... the strength of this industry comes from what we know - and how we have discussions.

Something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a long time is finally ready to Launch.

It’s come from years of conversations, challenges, and seeing firsthand what growers and producer are up against every season.

We kept asking ourselves one question:
What’s missing for the industry?
... then we built it.

The olive industry across Australia and New Zealand is changing rapidly.

Water access and allocation are becoming more complex.
Compliance and biosecurity expectations continue to increase.
Input costs are rising.
Market conditions shift quickly… and many growers still find themselves navigating these pressures largely on their own.

At the same time, information remains scattered - across conversations, suppliers, events and disconnected resources - making it harder than it should be to make confident, informed decisions.

After many conversations with growers, processors and industry stakeholders, one thing has become clear:

The industry needs something more connected
More practical
More centralised

Something built specifically for olive professionals.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing more about a new initiative designed to support growers across every stage of production - from grove management to processing and market insight.

Closure of Wagga Wagga Edible Oils Laboratory a Major Blow to the Australian Olive Industry

TThe NSW Department of Primary Industries’ (DPI) Wagga Wagga Edible Oils Laboratory - a cornerstone of Australia’s olive and oilseed testing infrastructure - is expected to cease operations by Christmas 2025, with sample submissions accepted only until mid-November. 🚨 Global Shortage Alert: MAP & DAP Fertilisers 🚨

The worldwide supply of Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP) and Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) has tightened significantly, impacting professional growers everywhere.

Phosphorus is a critical nutrient for olive trees ... supporting strong root development, flowering, and fruit set. A shortage of MAP and DAP means growers will need to plan ahead, review fertiliser programs, and consider alternative nutrient strategies to safeguard yields.
