Is your diesel blowing excess smoke and barely getting up to speed?

Just another day at SJB Mechanical. This 1KD powered Prado came to us with issues of low power, black smoke and stalling, a quick scan found the injectors were well past their due date.

After installing a brand new set of Denso diesel fuel injectors and performing an intake clean to get rid of all that oily sooty build up, this Prado was back to its powerful self.

This is the big job we’ve been working on , 1998 gu patrol cut to a dual cab, 700mm chassis extension, 4.5l petrol 6 cylinder, built auto, built diffs, lockers, rebuilt car ect , the mod list is far too great to list, still final assembly to go

Leaking swivel hubs? Death wobble in your patrol? Let us take care of it!

This 79 series landcruiser came in with excessively leaking swivel hubs and seized brake callipers due to the rough terrain it sees on a daily basis.
We performed a full tear down and clean up of the front end before rebuilding it with the best quality genuine terrain tamer parts.
After setting all preloads correctly and rebuilding the front callipers this landcruiser now steers great and stops on a dime.

We’ve been a bit quiet on the old socials lately, for those in the know we appreciate the support but for those who aren’t, we lost a very important person to the sjb mechanical family to her battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last November and haven’t stopped since then.

We’ve got something BIG in the pipeline and on the hoist and when it’s done it’ll be one of a kind, first car if it’s kind in cairns we dare say 🤫

There’s a common theme with these 2 rigs 🧐

Keen eye observers will notice their uhf antennas are purple and that’s for a very good reason

Their painted purple to raise awareness for a not very well known cancer called Hodgkin’s lymphoma, as September is the month of awareness, we’re doing our part in raising awareness and offering to paint uhf antennas for $20 and all proceeds go to the Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer research and support fund

Had a crazy busy few weeks here at sjb mechanical

Here’s a snippet into just 2 of the many jobs we’ve had in this month

First being the white land cruiser, this customer is a veteran of the cape and if your a local up north you may recognise the Ute, he encountered 3 pigs on one of his routine trips and they certainly did some damage, smashed the front diff housing and cracked it in 7 places, limped it home and a new genuine Toyota housing was sourced and installed along with all the supporting repairs needed to keep this legend of the cape moving 👌

The dmax got a west coast suspension 2 inch lift kit with 300kg constant rear springs in preparation for the customer getting a custom tray and canopy set up 🙌

Our processes allow us to depressurise, remove the front struts, change the coil to the correct weight for your load and re pressureise and adjust to suit your application

This customer opted for our medium rate coils and high pressure airbag set up.
