As a new parent, it is one of the happiest and most exciting experiences of our lives. However, it can be one of the most challenging.
In the past family and friends would always be close by to offer support and assistance to a new mother in the months immediately after her child's birth. Nowadays, extended family may live out of state, and friends may be busier with their own personal lives. Dad might be working FIFO, or you just moved to the area from overseas or interstate and didn't have a support network.
Nevertheless, new mums do a fantastic job, but her life would be much easier if she had someone to help her cope with the stresses of her new mum life.
She needs someone who can watch the baby while she rests, showers, or performs errands. Over the first several months as a new mum, having a caring second set of hands at home helps her recuperate and feel more at ease in her new role.
For new mothers and their families, I am devoted to providing support in the period following childbirth.
* Mums recovering from a difficult birth
* Mums without a support network and availability of extended family
* Mums at risk of postnatal depression
* Defense mums with partners working away
* FIFO families with partners working away
Currently, I am studying to become a nurse, and I have two daughters who had severe reflux as babies which resulted in me having post-natal depression. So I can empathise with any new mum struggling. Clients have nicknamed me the "Baby Whisperer" from my work as a newborn photographer over the last 13 years.
