For more privacy and to keep those unwanted eyes from seeing what valuables you have, always keep your blinds closed upwards. That way they can only see the ceiling.

Did you know Burglars are using sites like Real Estate.com.au, and Air BnB to plan a break and enters? Not only are there pictures of the inside of the house they also have floor plans and a google map of the area. Air B&B also shows dates when the house or unit is vacant allowing burglars time to plan their attack. Is there a way to stop this problem? let us know your thoughts in the comment section.

: The Palaszczuk Government has finally admitted they got it wrong in 2015 by watering down laws.

Today they adopted our policy to introduce breach of bail as an offence for young offenders to keep Queenslanders safe. This is despite the Government opposing this as recently as yesterday.

Community security patrols aim to create safer communities and support the activities of the Local Police. This service, undertaken by patrol officers, is designed to:

Be a visible presence to deter crime and anti-social behaviour in the community.

Provide extra 'eyes and ears' to assist and support the local Police.

Quickly respond to requests to attend a resident's home, including activated alarms on private property.

Respond to anti-social behaviour issues and request the assistance of the local Police if required.

Proactively submit repair reports for matters such as graffiti, vandalism and / or damage as well as report any suspicious persons / vehicles.

Consult with the local Police and the local council on possible options to improve community safety.

Community Security Patrols do not replace Police assistance or activities.

Remember - Is the incident happening now? Is the suspect still at the scene? Is anyone seriously injured or in immediate danger?

If you have Christmas light cords running through a window or door, ensure thy can be locked securely at
night, as this can be a weak spot that makes it easier to enter your home.
Don’t display Christmas presents near windows where they are easily visible from outside. Take a walk
around your house to see if valuables can be seen inside your home.
If you’re expecting a parcel, be careful about delivery – avoid front-door deliveries or for the parcel to be held
at the post office. And don’t click on the link in any text message you get saying your parcel is on its way!
